Traderbill Posted May 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2021 Do you have to make reservations ahead of time to eat in the main dining room?
valleyvillage Posted May 10, 2021 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2021 No, not unless you have a large group you wish to seat together.
tallnthensome Posted May 10, 2021 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2021 (edited) You don’t have to but you can especially if you’re choosing to dine right at the main dinner rush time and don’t want to wait for a walk up. MNcruisingcouple Posted May 10, 2021 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2021 It really does depend on how large your group is and what time you are planning to dine. We've sailed with groups as large as 9 and I always make reservations one embarkation day. When I asked if I needed to for the MDRs, they've always said it isn't necessary but appreciated. I'd much rather have the reservation than be walking up with a group of 9 and have to wait. When my husband and I were in Europe, the prime eating time was much later. We walked up just the two of us at about 8pm and had to wait. Whereas in the Caribbean there seems to be a rush right at opening time.
saltsandknit Posted May 10, 2021 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2021 It isn’t necessary but we usually do, we plan around the shows and evening entertainment. We book all our dinners and specialty dining for the cruise in one go.
