Just checked on our 7/3/2021 Mardi Gras sailing...officially cancelled.

Glad I put a deposit on the 7/2/22 sailing last week!

Got the same room, one year later.

That is now 4 rescheduled cruises...

07/25/2021 Pride out of Baltimore cancelled. I went to the website and did the "Check to see if my sailing is cancelled" and it said yes and gave me the usual options for rebooking/refund.

8/14/2021 Mardi Gras now shows the option to cancel for a full refund or keep your reservation and get the $100 OBC if it sails.

That is the option we had on 7/17/2021 until just within the hour.

Yeah, we did not have that option until just now. I’m assuming that means it will be cancelled after June 1 (if it’s going to get cancelled, which is looking more and more likely).

My brain is already settled that we’ll be doing our Plan B vacation.

Considering the industry has said July. No surprise at all.

At the top of their website on the left there is some fine print. Click where it says “cancelled cruises”

July 24 Mardi Gras shows canceled 😞

It is interesting that all are canceled except out of Galveston for July (late). I have not looked at every date, but that is what the entire thing shows at the moment.

Horizon out of Miami 07/04 - not canceled (yet?)

Hopefully they will go ahead and cancel my August Mardi Gras cruise.  I was looking forward to it until I read the new CDC crazy rules.  I have better ways to spend my vacations than moving backwards after being fully vaccinated.  Many people are already cancelling or moving their cruises because of the rules, so it will be fine when it is officially cancelled.

I will look into cruises that leave outside of the US.

Who knows what the CDC will change by then. Governor DeSantis is on their tail and so is Alaska to get things reasonable for the cruise industry. Wondering why the CDC is so set against the cruise industry?  Funny, all theme parks have relaxed rules. What is the difference getting some sun around a hotel pool and a cruise pool when all lounges will be 6ft apart in both. Masks are not required at the hotel pools. At this point I wonder what the cruise lines will actually enforce on the ships? Will their be undercover CDC people watching? Nice FREE cruise for them.

Alaska can't do much if Canada won't let cruise ships port.

It isn't a CDC law that says a stop in a foreign port is required.

Yes, it's part of the PVSA (Passenger Vehicle Service Act), which requires a foreign flagged vessel to stop at a foreign port of call if stopping/starting at a US port. It's antiquated and needs to be updated.

I thought lawmakers were working on an exemption for Alaska cruises though?

Plan B for sure - I'm glad I kept plan B moving - two weeks WDW - will be a fun filled time, and we shall find some relax time at the pools as well, without having to worry about masks...

We had the same sailing reserved for next year on the Mother's Day sale too - big OBC coming our way!

Glad I put that deposit down!

Alaska is part of the USA it is our 49 state. Canada has nothing at all to do with Alaska.

Alaskan cruises out of the USA only happen with a foreign port stop, which always happens to be in Canada.  If Canada still does not allow cruise ships to port there this summer, then the 2021 summer Alaskan cruise season will be officially dead, even though it has been on life support for awhile.
