Bahamas itinerary - Harbor Island stop removed?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I saw that today, as well. Hoping there are not a lot of other changes!

Also, they are charging a whopping $750 now (was $150) for the Beach Cabanas in Bimini!

Anyone that would pay $750.00 for a Cabana is completely out of their mind!

I noticed that our itinerary has changed. Our stop in Harbor Island has been changed to Spanish Wells. Any idea why?

It appears that our cruise beginning the 28th of August has deleted Harbor Island and replaced it with an At Sea Day cruising around the Bahamas.

Wow! As a first time Crystal cruiser this is not sitting well with me. Between this and the ridiculous 3-day prior to embarking PCR test, I’m thinking of cancelling. I had a beach cabana booked and $750 is ridiculous. All of the cabanas have changed to totally bs pricing.

Likely an e-mail will go out to guest and travel specialists on this.

True -- but you would think before they posted it online, that they would communicate with those who have paid for the cruise already.  It is not acceptable -- COVID or not -- to change things online before informing those affected by email. I know cruises change ports, and I have experienced that several times both before boarding and even after boarding, but to know the change and not inform loyal customers is not the level of service one expects from a luxury line. (This is not a mega-ship.)

And that is what they often do.  My experience is as I posted earlier.

They made a mistake.  It happens.

I suspect people are doing the best they can under very challenging circumstances getting a cruise line restarted while at the same time dealing with a myriad of Covid related issues. My view is to cut them some slack.

I also think everyone needs to be as flexible as they can and this includes other changes, embarkation and other unexpected things.

Hi,

I am booked on the Crystal Serenity for the cruise that is scheduled to depart from Nassau on September 18, 2021. I checked my itinerary and saw the change to Spanish Wells. This doesn't really matter to me. I have a feeling that these ports are similar. I will be very thankful to be back aboard a ship.

For some encouraging words and nice pics re Spanish Wells, go to the July 17-24 Roll Call and look at post #133.  Nyloc, a Bahamas resident, posted this well before the itinerary change was announced.

While this is unfortunate I feel we should all cut them a little slack. This is a totally new itinerary and it is being done during a pandemic. When I booked my cruise I expected some changes. We are just happy we are going to go on a fabulous cruise.

My 2 cruises still say Harbour Island on the Crystal site.

This is very confusing.

Did you look at PCPC or the regular site?

Exactly.  People need to take a deep breath. We are in uncharted waters.  There will likely be some bumps in the road or is that in the ocean. LOL.

Those pictures of Spanish Wells are great to see. I am so looking forward to finally being on a cruise. If our ship has the sole use of The Beach Club at Bimini, it will be a really nice day. The resort looks relaxing. (I have decided to cancel the cabana, now that the price has soared.)

I see they keep adding shore excursions (which I expected them to do).  What are your thoughts on Great Exuma Island exclusive day at 23 North Beach Club? Has anyone experienced the location?

I don’t care where we go, I just want to go.  In addition, a WHITE party has been added. It says one night during the cruise.  Time to go shopping.

Not me.  I think those white parties that they have on Azamara are so ridiculous.  Sadly. Crystal is now following.

“Now” is a really relative word to those of us that have already been to a few of them I think…. It’ll be — what — 4 years in February since they were introduced?  Not my favorite event Crystal does, but it’s a cocktail party…. Just IMHO, but not something I’m “sad” Crystal does either.  🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, Azamara has been doing them forever.  Didn’t like them then and sad that Crystal does them.  Luckily we all have choices and I will be somewhere else LOL,

Totally!  That’s my favorite part about the way Crystal has implemented it — you can walk straight through it and do something else if it’s not your thing!  You can even try the special cocktails in the other bars if that was the only thing that interested you (like me haha).

@BWIVinceI keep forgetting to post that my family and I were in Frederick a few weeks ago.  Had a nice walk around downtown and the canal area and then some drinks along the canal.  It is lovely.  Waterfront dining in BWI today was hot. (The city, not the airport LOL)

Great breweries not far away from Frederick in Harpers Ferry WV.

I’m so glad you had a great visit!  Was the place along the creek the Wine Kitchen?  I not only love their drinks, but many of their staff I have known for decades (from a variety of different restaurants) and they are truly wonderful people.

Booze seems to be our thing lately…. Breweries in Harpers Ferry, wineries in the country outside the city, and some great distilleries in town.

I bet it was hot on the Bay and Harbor today!  It was so still here, and the sun was beating down.  At least it’s not so muggy yet…. Something to look forward to.  Haha. 🥵

Come back and visit again soon!  🙂
