Can FL deny re-enty if FL law was not enforced in international waters? Perhaps, but that would not be the $5,000 fine, that is a totally separate consequence that is not spelled out in the law. FL can not enforce their law in international waters any more then they could enforce FL law in NY Gotta disagree here. I do not see any line doing a bait & switch on any passenger strictly based on law. The cruise contract will be written to favor the line and cover their asses big time. Passengers will be subserviant to the line has long as they are on board. And the line will follow all laws that govern the place of being while there. Barabados may be different than Miami but both sets of laws will be followed to the T.

I wasn't saying otherwise...merely that I think they can require vaccines for certain activities on the ship (after in international waters) and not be in violation of the FL law. My opinion of course doesn't mean squat...i'm just enjoying the fun conversation until Royal says what they will or wont do.

ALL passengers undergo testing and other protocols HOWEVER if you voluntarily submit proof of vaccination you are not required to undergo testing or other protocols. Issued a colored bracelet to be worn throughout cruise to assist crew in identifying who is not required to wear masks or other protocols. I also thought about them issuing bracelets for vaccinated guests. I mentioned to my husband and e didn’t think it would work, but I do.

smokeybandit Posted June 7, 2021 #80 Share Posted June 7, 2021 You can't just make people who are vaccinated wear bracelets. You'd need to make everyone wear a bracelet 1

You either need a Covid Test (international travel) or a Vaccine. If you show the vaccine, you don't need the covid test and all is good. You will not be denied boarding by Florida Law if no vaccine.....however, the covid test is another issue. So the vaccine is not "required". On a side note....anyone that is concerned or worried......please don't go. The rest of us are fine Overthinking - perhaps. But I just need to make a decision on whether to board a future cruise. I am vaccinated, but have 5 co-morbidities. Thus, subject to the unvaccinated as well as variants. So, on your side note - I am concerned and worried and may not go. I am glad that "the rest of us are fine," but I have a personal decision to make about boarding any cruise ship whether it is FL or TX, etc. And my decision may be different than yours would be given my interpretation. I would think forcing the non-vaccinated to wear a bracelet would be an issue, and they could always take it off. Like when you go to a bar. You want to drink? show ID and get a bracelet. Don't want to show ID, or don't want to drink? you don't have to wear one.

Evilgrin72 Posted June 7, 2021 #85 Share Posted June 7, 2021 I'd be booking right now if they required proof of vaccination to sail. Not a chance I'm getting on board with a bunch of anti-vaxxers/anti-maskers unless and until I see months of sailings out and back with no discernible evidence of widespread contamination/outbreaks.

Everyone has to wear a mask unless you want an exemption. Show vaccine, get an exemption. Its your choice. I can say hey I like masks, or don't want to show proof, and can keep wearing masks. We are getting down a rabbit hole here. I think we disagree on this one but don't need to keep beating it to death. 1

Goodtime Cruizin Posted June 7, 2021 #92 Share Posted June 7, 2021 I want to cruise. I recognize that everyone else does too and there is alot of middleground that can be done to acheieve this. I also understand that my point of view is not the be all and end all of the cruising world. Having said this, I'll cruise on a fully vaccinated ship or non vaccinated ship, or even a ship with both... as long as it is mask free. I will NOT cruise with a mask requirement and I will not show proof of a vaccine in order to do so. I will not be segregated from others and I will not accept that others will be segrated from me. The days of the 'colored' drinking fountains will never return in my life. I will not allow it. Those were terribly bad days of our times and to start them again with vax and non vaxed classes of people is not my cup of tea. I honestly could not enjoy myself on a cruise seeing this or being a part of it. If this occurs, I'll quietly cancel my cruises and move on and away from RCL, perhaps even cruising.

Yet you both probably go to the supermarket every day with a mix of anti-vaxers and anti-maskers all around you. Your decision not to cruise is much appreciated.. that makes more room for real cruisers now as the posers show their colors. By now, most everyone in the US has been exposed to covid. You either had no symptoms, mild symptoms, bad symptoms or died. A covid outbreak on a cruise ship is different now than a year ago. It hardly makes a difference now if you disembark more covid cases into Florida. The only way to not have covid on board is not to test for it, just like Walmart and Home Depot don't test you as you leave their stores. 2
jrapps Posted June 7, 2021 #94 Share Posted June 7, 2021 Carnival officially announced this morning vaccines requires in July on Vista and Breeze out of Galveston. I guess that mans no kids under 12, and they can do away with masks and social distancing. They also said they will update on what their plan is for the Horizon out of Miami by this Friday. They did say in the press release this ONLY applies to JULY, and that they will update once we get to August.

Vax vs non Vax does not do this. The seperation of these two classes is based strictly on the basis of one's personal choice(s).

I think this is correct. They can ask and you can decline to tell them and then they can have you wear a mask, etc. Businesses just can’t condition the receipt of any good or service upon vax verification. You people really do need to stay at home where it's safe and warm.
