Im getting my second vax june 22 , so this is good news as i wouldnt of gone anywhere with 

those restrictions in place .

Yup, have 2nd booked too, for June 21: next cruise is still 5 1/2 months away, so 99% sure I can get in and out of Canada

Great news! With the big decline in # of cases and increase in vaccinations, I was counting on this happening. Now we just need to get our second shots and will be good to go on our Aug Alaska cruise on Ovation.

It’s a start. I get my second shot Sunday but I’m looking forward to not having the three day home isolation waiting for the arrival test to be negative.  Still, way better than the Covid hotel. Hopefully by January this will be a thing of the past when we go to Antigua.

DH and I also get our second shot Sunday.  My older one got his first and DD first shot next week so happy about the speed up than originally planned.  Our August cruise is gone but hoping things even better for our next cruise in December with just needing vaccines to return.

I hope it is by then too.  We are planned to go in early February. Our circle gets second doses today to Sunday, with Owen in mid July at this point.

Great to be fully vaccinated before the start of the school year.  That's what we're hoping for too.

Im not planning anything this year , but  i may take advantage of the double points and book a suite

before the end of june for a sept 2022 cruise and get a double double . 🙂🙂

Is that still working? We booked a B2B from Galveston in late January. I thought we had lost the double cruise points when our Transatlantic was cancelled. 🤞

Double points apply to sailings booked by June 30, 2021 and sailing by Sept 30, 2022

Got my second this past Sunday, Vikki's is Friday and the kids will hopefully be mid July.

 

Next cruise is in  December.  I just cancelled our trip to Banff for early July, i had until June 12 to get a refund from Air Canada and there is still too much uncertainty even with interprovincial travel.  A couple of the tours that we had booked had even cancelled.  On a positive note though, the AC refund hit my card 3 days later (are you listening Royal)

The Vaccines are administered in two doses a few weeks apart ( except Johnsons ).

In Canada we didnt have enough supply so they extended the second dose up to 4 months later.

Now that we have supply that extension was shortened to about 10 weeks .

Different ages and reasons for signing up initially led to slightly different ways to sign up for second shots

We are going to two different drug stores where we were able to get on the wait list. One 30 and the other 15 minutes from home. It comes down to an availability of doses in said location VS waiting longer for the place you have already pre-booked.  For example I moved up 5 full weeks from my scheduled 2nd dose.  If I hadn’t gone to a pharmacy, but to where I got my first shot, I might have moved up a couple of weeks.

I moved up my date for the second shot  from August 2 nd ( having had my first shot april 12 ) to june 22 . I too changed locations but i am using large centers as my source .

Once there is no isolation at all I will probably return for a visit.

That’s a great move. On line we saw many places giving doses in Toronto and area the next day, last weekend.  We didn’t really want to drive that far, with London opening up this week.

I got my second shot earlier today. That was 5 weeks shorter than the original date. 🥳

 

The only downside of getting everyone fully vaccinated is that I might have to go back into the classroom in September. I'm a College/University Prof and the university I teach at is over an hour's dive away. I have not missed the commute one little bit. In addition, I've saved thousands of dollars in gas and highway 407 toll costs over the last 15 months! 💲

 

Of course it will be nice to see the students I'm actually teaching. I just hope I'll be able to remember where my office is. And where I put the key. 🤔

We will be able to register for 2nd Pfizer dose June 22 - hopefully we can get the appt quickly so we will be fully vaxxed and can take our next booked cruise which is 8/22 on Odyssey.  We are in NB
