Adjustments to VIFP levels

Just posted by John Heald comments on different delivery methods and procedures for different levels for the time being....

Today our Platinum and Diamond guests will start to hear about some modifications to the way they claim some of their VIFP benefits. Guests will receive their communications 16 days prior to sailing but I will share some of the highlights here since I know everyone is eager to get the information. To give you more choice and convenience, and also minimize the number of stateroom deliveries, certain VIFP amenities, will be linked to your Sail and Sign folio. So when you claim your benefit, say the complimentary bottle of water, you will see a credit for the water on your statement.
When you’re ready to get the Chocolate Delight, call room service to schedule delivery and visit our Photo Gallery to claim your Carnival logo gift and your Carnival ship pin.
Also, I want you to know that given our focus on meeting CDC requirements and implementation of new health and safety protocols, we are also making the following adjustments:
· ONLINE CHECK-IN – All guests will be required to complete Online Check-In, which will open 14 days prior to sailing. Platinum and Diamond guests will be given 48 hours advance access to select their preferred Arrival Appointment. So beginning 16 days prior to sailing, you can select your Arrival Appointment. Let me also stress that due to additional embarkation day processes, everyone will have to arrive promptly at their Arrival Appointment. Early arrivals will be turned away and asked to return at their assigned time.
· STATEROOM ACCESS – Due to enhanced cleaning and sanitation, staterooms may not be ready at the time of boarding for the early Arrival Appointments. While our team finishes working on your cabins, you can quickly drop off your luggage before heading to Lido for a bite to eat or complete your e-muster process.
· WATER SHUTTLE PRIORITY – Priority water shuttle debark will be provided subject to local guidance at the destinations we visit, which may change without prior notice. Our team on board will keep you informed of the debarkation plans for each port.
· CASINO – Although we are currently unable to host casino tournaments on board, you will be given US$25 in Casino FunPlay®.
· DEBARK – We will do our best to offer priority debarkation, however, this may not be possible if we have unusually high numbers of Platinum and Diamond guest on board.
I want to thank you for your understanding and support of these changes. Our terrific crew is really looking forward to welcoming all of you back and can’t wait to see you.
Oh and I almost forgot, there is no change the Diamond and Platinum laundry perks. As it is late here I will be back tomorrow to start answering any questions and have a Coffee with John Live video at 7:45am Miami time.
Cheers an goodnight

Thanks for the info kdr69! Very informative. But I still don't know if FTTF that's been purchased for our August sailing, is in the same boat as July.  No pun intended. I guess  we have to wait a while longer to find out more about August sailings.

FTTF was still showing on our September cruise as of last night.  However, today it is no longer showing.  I'm guessing it won't be available for at least a few months.

As Per John this is just for July so far...

I just wanted to confirm before I put my choose fun pajamas on that this post refugees to July cruises only. Quite honestly we don’t know what’s going to happen in August, September and beyond but I hopes are that we move ever closer each day to normality. So once again for those of you asking about what’s going to happen in August and September the answer is I don’t know and that we will of course update all this information closer to your cruise. Thanks again and good night

In another comment on the same post, he also mentioned more details about E Muster will be available in a few days.

That's going to be a welcome change.  I remember one muster on Liberty in 2018 where we had to stand lined up out in the heat for well over half an hour while waiting for everyone to show up, one elderly lady passed out.  That was a totally unnecessary cluster &*$%.

There was really no consistency from one ship to another, the most organized muster I'd seen was on the Dream.

But anyway, if the e-muster is anywhere close to what's been discussed (watch a video and then report to the muster station to have your Sail-n-Sign card swiped) it will be a welcomed improvement.

Possible FTTF pax will have access to check-in on the day (15) between Diam/Plat and everyone else? I'm sure they hate to cancel a source of revenue any longer than they have to.

That was what I was thinking as well. When they moved Diamond and Platinum to 16-days, it is just as easy of a change to make FTTF 15-days. But for July, it is as it is. I do have it for my November cruise. It will not ruin my vacation not having it, but it makes a massive change in plans getting to port, hotel checkout time, etc.

Personally, we are staying at MCO. If we get a 1:30PM terminal time, I don't want to wait until noon to leave MCO to get to port because anything could happen. In this case we would need a plan on where we can go with luggage, chill out, and then get to the terminal. Lots of logistical issues.

Let's hope that's the case. 👍

e muster like, electronic muster?  🤔

Yes, but he said that it was something that would be finished onboard, so I'm guessing they are going to require you to go to your assigned muster station at some point.  It seems like it will definitely be better than before.!

This is interesting since there's Carnival players Club sponsored (Elite & Ultra) cruises in July on the Horizon. Usually these special Casino Department cruises have special gambling tournaments and drawings every day, multiple times a day.

That's how all the other cruiselines are doing it. Generally you watch a video on your phone or cabin TV at your leisure and then proceed to your assigned Muster station to see it's actual location and be signed off by an employee that witnessed your Muster station arrival. This is all done at your leisure but BEFORE sailaway.

Just got an email from Carnival.  My FTTF for my July cruise has been cancelled and is being refunded.

I look forward to more information about eMuster that has been mention on Heald's page.
