Ondine Posted July 5, 2021 #59 Share Posted July 5, 2021 Stanley is one of my favourite places. I would love to live there. It was better before the Chinese bought North West Cape and ruined the farming area.

Not sure... it was closed for a couple year back in 2017.... which meant the tourist buses stopped dropping in... and they tried to lease the chairlift and cafe separately... bad idea you can't one without the other.... it is a steep climb up the nut, one has done it over 100 times.... so the real oldies off the bus tours would have no hope climbing up , so they stopped come into Stanley.... then on our last visit the petrol station on the turn off on the bass hwy closed, so for fuel it was off to Smithton 20km away... but it is still a lovely place for a holiday Don
