Yeah….the hesitancy is with me, not her.  She realizes what is required of her in relation to her work.  She actually embraces her dedication.  Our work schedules have actually flip flopped.  A couple of years ago, I was working 70 hours/week and had the crazy schedule, and she had a stable and defined work schedule.

 

 Now, I’m retired and she is working crazy schedules and a ton of hours with the pandemic once again making demands.

 

If I can get over my hesitancy, I am looking at the Summit, and maybe back on the Edge, only on the Eastern route.  Looking at sailing 3-4 weeks from now, if I pull the trigger!

After much (OK...maybe a little) discussion this a.m., which went something like this....

 

 

ME-"Honey, I'm looking at another cruise next month.  I figure I can sit around and wait for you to maybe get more free time, or I can just take advantage of my free time and go when I can."

 

GF-"Love you and would love to go with you.  But, as long as we're still on for Europe over the Holidays, I think you should take advantage of your retirement.  I'm working and what little free time I have, I just want to sleep and take it easy.  When are you thinking of going?

 

ME-"In 3 weeks"

 

GF-"You can pull off another cruise in just 3 weeks?"

 

ME-"Ummmmmm......yeah!"

 

GF-"For how long?"

 

ME-"A week!"

 

GF-"Going were?"

 

ME-"Caribbean"

 

GF-"You just came back from there."

 

ME-"This will be the Eastern Route".

 

GF-"Which cruise line and which ship?"

 

ME-"Celebrity Edge"

 

GF-"that's the same one you just were on"

 

ME-"Yep, just different itinerary".

 

GF-"What if I said 'no'?

 

ME--"Then, I wouldn't go"

 

GF-"...and sit around and mope"

 

ME-"would not"

 

GF-"would too"

 

ME-"OK, I won't look at any more cruises this year"

 

30 minutes goes by.....

 

GF-"you know, do this while you can.  You may become decrepit in the next 6 months, and then I'll feel guilty for not letting you go, while you're sitting in your chair wetting yourself and drooling after eating strained peas."

 

ME-"I knew there was a reason I loved you"

@graphicguySo there is no covid test required to be done just prior to embarkation? And no such test just prior to disembarkation? I am from Canada and I think there is a requirement to show negative result from a covid test done within 3 days before we can board a flight home. I was hoping the cruise ship will be able to do one for us before disembarkation.

Hi....I'm from the U.S., so no tests required as long as I had my COVID VACCINE card that they scanned upon my check in.  None at embarkation, and none at disembarkation.

 

Here's a link that makes it sound like they'll test, at least children, at no charge.  Not sure about adults in Canada.  But, check it out.  Probably not a bad idea to call Celebrity directly, too.

Cool….But, unfortunately, I’ll miss you by a week.

 

I think the self proclaimed “porn stars” (yes, they called themselves that) are perhaps a once in a cruising lifetime event.  But, one of the fun things about cruising is the different types of people you meet, from all walks of life, from different cultures, different parts of the world, etc.  

 

That’s one of the reasons we enjoy cruising.

 

Looking forward to hearing about your cruise, too!

I get that.  It’s not the reason.  You’re right, nonetheless.

 

But, regardless of what I thought of them, or their antics, the pics were inadvertently of them in a drunken state, and just the opposite of flattering.  Those of us who saw them on the cruise know what I’m saying.

 

When I took the pics, I thought it was a fun chronicle of just two of the many people I met on the cruise.  Now, I see them in a different light after revisiting them.
