July 25, 2021 Live From Majestic Princess Alaska sailing

Recommended Posts

@farsight I happened to be by enclave this morning and did the tour. It’s $179 for one person for the entire cruise. You get two hours per day & must reserve your times. Can break the two hours up if you’d like. Everything is open and no masks required. They do control capacity so they could run out of passes. They still had passed to sell today and they prorate them. It would be $99 if today I booked for rest of sailing.
didn’t ask what it costs for two.

Tonight’s magician / comedian was fantastic.

Early in this thread it was posted that Michael Misko was the magician & glad to learn that he was fantastic. He is the original illusionist/performer still shown in the promotions for Magic to Do.

He was witty & funny during a Liars Club event we attended on another cruise. He’s multitalented & talking to him he explained why Magic to Do is limited to only a couple of ships. The role is difficult to cast because it not only requires the skills of a magician & performer but also a lot of physicality to quickly run around the stage plus up to the balcony all within a few seconds.

Hopefully he’ll still be onboard Majestic when we board the ship this Fall. 🙂

Is the Enclave like the Sanctuary?

The enclave is a magical place on the royal class ships. It's got a thermal pool with a rain shower and it's got hot stone beds and waterbeds in there they've got different like scented energy showers and in there you'll find your 3 different kinds steam rooms. It is such a relaxing place to hide away.

Thanks for your answer.  Have a great day. Do you rent by the day or the trip?  Same question for the Sanctuary.

Unfortunately you have to get a pass that lasts the whole cruise. But if you don't join from day one they will prorate it whenever you decide during your cruise to take advantage of it.

As for the sanctuary you can get a pass just for a day or a few days or the whole Cruise but you're not obligated to do an entire cruise. Also when you book your stay in the sanctuary you don't even have to do a full day pass you could do a half a day pass too.

Thanks for that update. We’re booked on the train, but it sounds like we’ll be headed right back to port after if there’s nothing doing in town. The loss of the cruise industry over the past year must have hit them hard.

I would encourage you to still walk around. We had coffee at Glacier coffee shop and then beer at Skagway Brewing. There were also nice things 50% off at the Loom, right across the street from the National Park visitor center. Many places are in the process of reopening, as we were only the second ship of the season. Help support the shops who are open, as you are able and willing to.

Thank you for posting! We’ve already missed some wonderful Alaska video. Can’t wait to board her on Aug. 22.

We have a perfect day to visit Glacier Bay. The sun is out and almost too warm now. I caught a few moments of calving on video. I hope that sound was picked up.

@HaveDogWillTravel We are in E436 for the invites. This will be the fourth time I’ve stopped and talked to Jan this cruise. What a wonderful opportunity we have!!

How obstructed is your view from E436? I'm in that cabin for Mexico later this fall.

Here are specialty dining menus (reposting Harmony, which was posted earlier). Harmony is Americanized from what it was before.

Can you possibly get a picture of the Sur La Mer Brunch and Breakfast menus (if they have). Especially interested in what is offered their for breakfast.

Also. The menus say something about 10.00 for an additional entree. What about if you want multiple appetizers? I normally wouldn't ask this, but the menus do say "choose one" next to it.

thanks.

@HaveDogWillTravel THANK YOU! You are a class act! As I stated in my earlier post, for the two of us on our Sept. 26, 2021 Alaska cruise, the price just changed from $299 to $219. I'm thinking this is due to protocols and the necessity of reservations which were never required in the past.

Hey, if you book to come on our cruise and take the reins, we would be ecstataic. 😁

Thanks again.

Leon

We sailed 2 weeks in E436 on Royal Princess & there was no obstruction when looking outward & only when looking down on the open outside Promenade deck or when looking aft.
