Port of Tyne car parking

Thinking of doing explorer 2 from Newcastle port of Tyne, does anyone know if there is car parking nearby other than the ports own car park please.

I think Premier Inn has been mentioned previously. We have previously used the train/hotel/taxi, Intercruise coach (not available now) and someone on a previous cruise we were on, had dropped passengers at port, parked at Newcastle airport, then used the metro I believe (sounds like a faff to save a few quid, even to a Yorkshireman)

We stayed the night before our cruise at Premier Inn. I had rung to ask if we could leave the car there for 2 weeks. They said this was okay and we could pay a donation to them for the local children's  hospital. However our concern was that if the car were stolen, no-one would notice it or report it.  We eventually used Justparking.com  and parked on a drive near to the port which worked very well for us.

We've also stayed at the Premier Inn before and left our car there for small donation to there charity for a Norwegian Fjords cruise couple of years ago.

 

Although it might save a few quid, think we would probably get Marella parking during covid just for ease of everything.

We paid Marella to park at the port.

 

Off the ship, bus to car park, on our way. No hassle.
