beckzay Posted May 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Sorry, not Carnival related, but you guys always seem to have answers. Does anyone have any idea where I can find info or message boards on Atlantis, Paradise Island Resort? I'd like to do some research and see if it's reasonably priced for a family vacation. Thanks! yst347 Posted May 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Our next door neighbors spent a week at Atlantis in February. They had a wonderful time but it is very very very expensive. Boston6 Posted May 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2004 If you think that $265-$700 a night for a standard room is reasonable, then it's reasonable. If you want a suite, 1 or 2 bedroom, plan on paying more...a lot more. LadySophisticate Posted May 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Atlantis has the very best restaurants, especially Cafe Martinique. If you go, do order the Shrimp de Jonghe...it is served as an appetizer, but I always order two as an entree. The Caesar salad and Chateaubriand are also excellent. cwstar Posted May 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 6, 2004 We stayed at Atlantis a couple of years ago at Christmas. It was beautiful. Everything was great but the weather. Rainy and too cool to enjoy the water fun. We had a great time anyway. You will have much better weather I am sure.
jemingway Posted May 6, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2004 As yst347 said, Atlantis is outrageously expensive. I would rather spend the money on another cruise. I believe very little is included in the price of the room and the casino is not nearly as friendly as on a cruise ship. And that's my opinion after getting to stay for free! MrPete Posted May 6, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 6, 2004 I tried pricing a 3 night getaway for October for three of us, with airfare, and it came to something like $2500. At that point, I decided I'd rather cruise for 7 days in a balcony. Atlantis is opulent, but I'd rather pay for FUN. beckzay Posted May 6, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Thanks for all the info! Seems a little expensive for us thought, I'd rather take the kids on a 7 night cruise for that price. Janine Posted May 6, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Why not stay next door to the Atlantis at the Comfort Suites. It's much cheaper and you receive all the priveledges and use of all the outdoor and indoor facilities as the 'regular' Atlantis guests do.
