mikelan6 Posted August 27, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2021 I'd like to know if you encountered rough seas on the Bay of Biscay.
Rare John Bull Posted August 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2021 Yes, the Bay of Biscay can be bad-tempered. Can kick up any time of the year, but most likely in October / November, and Feb / March. But even then, it's docile far more times than it isn't. Have sailed it a few times, by both cruise ships and ferries. Never been unlucky with a cruise ship, one uncomfortable crossing by ferry. Trust me - in such conditions a good big 'un is better than a good little 'un 🙂 Grief isn't just limited to the Bay of Biscay - the English Channel can cut up rough as well - usually same times of year as BoB. As Dirty Harry would say, "Do you feel lucky, punk?" 😉 JB 🙂
vadell Posted October 24, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2021 Just returned from Sky Princess it was very rough, 40- 60 mph winds and the waves were hitting the windows in the restaurants on the 6th floor. It was very rocky in the cabin and walking throughout the ship was difficult.
