I am not sure that it works quite that way.  (Unless something has changed since our last Celebrity cruise in the fall of 2019.)  We got chips to play blackjack, and they came as promo chips.  They can be played, but not cashed.  So you play the promo chips until they are gone and set aside the "real" chips you win on winning hands.  That way you can run through, let's say, $500 worth of OBC and end up with, maybe $400-$600 of real chips at the end.

If there is some simpler way to just put credits on your stateroom card and then cash them in without having to play them, that would be good to know!

Tom & Judy

We did it on Edge and last month. On a slot machine, add credits to the machine through a “room charge”. Then cash out and take ticket to cashier for real money. The room charge appears on your room account like any other onboard purchase. If you have OBC, it covers the charge.

If you buy casino credits through the cruise planner, they are “promo” and you have to play them.

Was on hold for an hour and five minutes, but saved $940 on our January cruise, and $1160 on our May cruise.  They repriced the cruises, since final payment has not been paid.  I'm pretty happy.  The rep said to check back as they may have other discounts at a later date.

Awesome!  That’s a $2000 savings!  Congrats on getting such a good reduction.  We did likewise, but I really feel badly for those folks who weren’t able to benefit from the promotion this time around.

Yes, that’s the way to do it!  We’ve always done this with no problem at all.

OK I take back what I wrote earlier.  This is interesting if you look at the right cruise.

My Lisbon to Barcelona 11 day cruise 10/12/22 was about $8000 then cut to 8 days around $5800.  I found the reverse, Barcelona to Lisbon is still 11 days 10/20/22 and is only $4800.  So longer is cheaper!

BUT I'm still only seeing guarantee cabins on 10/20/22 and really don't want to do that.

I have an email into my TA but I don't expect an answer until next week.

We will have $1400 in OBC. With some ports requiring cruise line excursions we will use  about $600 on excursions, Chefs table another $200+, have been waiting to buy a new IPad until we see what is available on the ship, extra tips for the Butler & Cabin Attendant - poof it’s gone.  If there isn’t a IPad I want then a few bottles of Caymus or sometime in the casino.  We would never buy jewelry or art on a ship.

Buying an iPad on a ship is no different than buying jewelry at Tiffany on a ship.

May want to do some price checking or shopping around. I'm seeing some pretty substantial price adjustments this morning.

Thank you for this post.  We just had the price lowered on one cruise and additional on-board credit given on two cruises.  Saved us some dollars!

Jeremiah1212- Thanks so much for posting this. My agent tried for an hour and a half and then I sat on hold for an hour and 45 minutes to drop the price by about $400. Since we are retired and mostly just home it wasn't so bad- put the phone on speaker and go about life. But I was impressed by the Celebrity agent who, after I begged a bit, reached out and was able to contact my travel agent so he could get this accomplished. Did write Celebrity to complement him- so many of the cruiseline agents I have spoken with of late are useless- this was a delightful surprise.

Four hours and one minute total, but saved ~$5200 for two bookings.  Still a good use of my time since I could work and clean house while waiting.  Thanks to everyone for the advice and to the OP for the heads up.  🙂

We were booked on Beyond, TA, Nov 2022, we have since canceled.  We were able to get a better suite on Oceania, similar itinerary, though 2 less days, 10 rather than 12, $$ diff for the two of us was almost $8k.  No always included but with the $$ savings who cares.  Anyway, today I looked at the same suite on Beyond that we have canceled, it is now $3k LESS than what we were booked at.  Something is happening, Delta giving people pause and starting to cancel? IDK but just glad we do not sail until late in 2022.

Wow. Great deal on O even with this sale.  I remember a time not too long ago you were an exclusive Celebrity fan.  Now you've been finding the advantage of looking at other lines.  Good job grasshopper. 🙂

I looked at our Apex Feb '22 cruise but our booked cat is not available.  A lower S2 is still $3K higher than our booked price even with the $2K sale discount.

Thanks so much, everyone! Called and was able to save $252 on my sons' inside cabin on a June 2022 Alaska sailing. Unfortunately, the category for my husband and me is sold out, but I am happy to save what I did. I was surprised that the wait time was only 16 minutes. At first, the representative told me that she thought the price reduction was only on new bookings, but she put me on hold to talk with her supervisor. When she came back, she told me she would be sending out a new invoice.

I held for nearly 2 hours today and decided something must be wrong.  Got fed up with them thanking me for my patience.  I phoned another number on the cell and got through in about 20 minutes.  Jennifer helped me save $486 on a cruise booked last April.   This took a fair while.   I hope I get the double points also but I'm not sure since it was not a new booking today.   I also made it into a B2B and the price today on the added cruise was definitely 20% lower than earlier this week.  Meanwhile I was still being thanked for my patience..............

Happy for all those who did even better than I did.  And yes, I got the email this AM re the sale.

No price reductionshere in the UK (no surprise). Our March Aruba cruise is now $500 more each in a verandah. The US price is much improved and I have told our New Yorker friends to call Celebrity. Am definitely going to book on the US site in future.

US price $5500 for a couple

UK price $7080 for a couple

Edit: So looking at Barcelona 10/20/22 I can see it *is* included in the 20% sale.  (But it is guarantee?)  It does not have all included.

I want to check sale prices for Lisbon 10/12/22 but it doesn't show up on the website.
