Mom1977 Posted February 17, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2006 We'll be in the Eastern Caribbean the end of March for 7 days. I am considering taking the following... 7 different tops, assorted colors, styles 2 pair white shorts 1 pair white pants 1 white skirt 1 pair white capris (this excludes formal nights) Then 2 pair of white sandals, one dressier, one plainer. Get the idea? It would help me in not having to change my whole outfit, just the bottoms. (I don't wear shorts to the dining room) But my first concern is wearing white pants/shoes before Easter. (I know, it's the Southern Lady upbringing in me). And secondly, is it too predictable, too boring?
suntan Posted February 17, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Don't worry darling about wearing white before Easter. You're in the Caribbean. Everyone wears white on the islands. No it's not too predicable or boring. I always take one or two pairs of white bottoms (pants, capris, or a skirt) and wear a bright coloured top. You will look great! Anyways, I thought the rule about not wearing white before Easter (or May 24th) had gone the way of the dodo bird.

By the way, some days I feel as old as a dodo bird!

Hoyaheel Posted February 17, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2006 I personally don't wear much white as a bottom (shorts, skirt, pants)--simply because I'm genetically predetermined to then promptly spill something like tomato sauce or red wine on myself..... Simplifying the colors in your wardrobe is a great way to pack lighter, though!
Ehpride Posted February 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2006 It probably wouldn't hurt to bring a few extra shirts. If you're out in the sun during the day and get hot or sweaty, you might not want to wear the same shirt that night. But great idea!
