hardinggrad Posted September 15, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2021 We tested right after midnight on the Thursday before for our Sept 5 Allure cruise (when you could test 3 days before). We did not have to wait.
forgotmyCCname Posted September 15, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 15, 2021 Last night was husband's 5th round using Binax. He called at 9:30pm Eastern and there was no wait. The proctor connected immediately. Our longest was around 14 minutes. 3
CruisingSince1982 Posted September 15, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 15, 2021 Ok, thank you. I'm concerned because it's Christmas, and the test wont be done until around 11 or so. EST.

batoryfirst Posted September 17, 2021 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2021 Had our tests this morning with the best possible outcome-NEGATIVE for both of us. I used my Apple 11 leaning against a bowl on my kitchen table. Sailed through it. My husband, on the other hand, used his Apple 12 & had no audio. He canceled that test & used his MacBook Air that we placed on a couple of books for height. Worked perfectly.

lolalow Posted September 18, 2021 #15 Share Posted September 18, 2021 I have never been tested - how uncomfortable is it? How do I know if Im going far enough back? Can I help my son? Not sure if he will go far enough back - he is 20 but disabled with Autism and is sensitive- I'm afraid he will stop and not go high enough if uncomfortable. Will results be inconclusive if he does not go high enough?
batoryfirst Posted September 18, 2021 #16 Share Posted September 18, 2021 I didn’t need to go very deep and think the 5 times swabbing is the most important part. It didn’t actually tickle or hurt but it was a bit odd feeling. The whole process went very fast. I like the fact that we had total control right from our kitchen table. Proctors were very pleasant & helpful. I would be appalled if they didn’t allow you to assist your son.
pstone1 Posted September 18, 2021 #17 Share Posted September 18, 2021 Did anyone use the same email address for multiple people when creating your account? I want to make sure that won’t cause a problem before I start the second account.

Will results be inconclusive if he does not go high enough? It wasn't uncomfortable at all to me. They say to insert qtip I believe 1/2 to 3/4 inch up each nostril and circle 5 times. Just search for "I tried the at home Covid-19 test that Royal Caribbean accepts". Michael Bayley, RCCL President & CEO, shared it on his Facebook. It gives step by step instructions of someone doing the test. Maybe you could maybe practice with your son in advance with a qtip. The anticipation is definitely the worse part.
