Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily report.  I like today’s quote.  I will have to pass on the butterscotch and tofu, not a fan of either.  Yesterday while downtown we picked up some apple dumplings, they made a nice dessert last night.  I hope everyone has a nice day today.

Good morning everyone. Butterscotch pudding  is a favorite  here as DD makes it often from scratch.The recipe looks good and would make half of the group quite happy.The quote is a good one as well.

Thanks to all for their kind thoughts yesterday.  Tana and I had run into a situation  in a store that was just awful on Friday.We were standing together to pay for our coffee and a scary person began giving us both a hard time about wearing  masks. Tana uses portable  oxygen and was already slightly  short of breath and I could see she was really angry. I tried to just ignore the idiot but she didn't. Oh my. I had to pull a chair over for her and try to calm the situation.

The other day @kazu said her tolerance  for stupid people is low.I understand  and concur.I am tired and sad to see people behave like this.

Anyway, I know we have a great deal to be grateful for and I want to believe that most people are kind. It is another day,the sun is out and there are good people on the Daily.

I'm sorry to hear you were harrassed in the store the other day.  Why should it matter to that person that someone else is wearing a mask?  Doesn't make any sense to me.  Just continue doing what you two feel is best for yourselves. 🙂❤️

And I apologize, I believe I spelled your name with an i earlier today.  I try to keep it all straight but I think I need a list because we have a large group of friends here to remember all spellings and details.🙃

👍Thank you for The Daily, Rich @richwmn and to Roy @rafinmd for the Care and Celebration Lists. Additionally, safe travels back home to you, Roy.🚗

❤ Congratulations on your Anniversary @mamaofami!

We also Pay it Forward when we're at a Starbucks drive through.

Glad to hear @atexsix is at home recovering.

😊Great photos of Longyearbyen... maybe on the Bucket List?.. (the farthest we were was The North Cape)🚢

In the past, we'd dress up for Talk Like a Pirate Day before our water aerobics class, lol. 😉

🙏Prayers to all in need.🙏

Good afternoon everyone from a sunny Cork.  It is 62°F/17°C, but the roads are very wet after a localised thunderstorm.

@rafinmd safe trip home, Roy.  I think at this stage you can remove Mrs VMax from the care list as she has either recovered from the side effects or has got used to them!  Actually, I am only joking as she is in fine form today and looking forward to going shopping for some cruisewear 😭

@mamaofami Congratulations on your anniversary.  Wow 62 years is amazing.

Longyearbyen is on my Bucket List.  Really want to get up to Spitzbergen.  Nord Kapp was amazing and I feel that Spitzbergen would be double amazing.  Great Photos, thanks to all who posted them.

Take care everyone.

I am so sorry to hear this 😞. What is wrong with people?  So tiresome.

Stay strong - and you’re right - there’s still a lot of kind people out there.  Just hard to remember when you are surrounded by stupidity like that 😞

@kazu regarding Pending Coffee.  We do something similar around here at the local Tim Hortons.  You pay for the person behind you in the drive thru line.

At another local coffee shop (non chain) a customer recently came in and gave the cashier $20 and told her the next 10 coffees were on him.  A nice surprise for the early morning crowd.

The Pending Coffee idea is great.  Thanks for sharing.

I have heard of this, Pay it Forward, where I live now and from friends in different areas/states. These acts of kindness do my heart good and helps keep me an optimist and positive thinker.

All in all, a very interesting day spent 800 miles from the North Pole!

Sandi, do you use your phone to take pictures? If not, would you mind sharing what type of camera you use?

By the way, I am sorry for posting this here. I did try sending a private message by clicking the envelope on Sandi's profile, but it told me that feature is unavailable.

Ahoy Metis - I'm of indigenous ancestry, so it makes sense to me.  LOL  I'm seriously late to the party today, I had a terrible night.  I'm sure I woke up at least eleventeen times throughout the night.  Not sure why, but when I finally did fall into a deep sleep, DH decided it was time to get up and I'm sort of fumbling along behind him now.

I haven't had butterscotch pudding in a very long time, maybe it's time to make a batch - remember how ugly it was to have the "skin" on top?   I'll tell DH it's Dance Day and we have to have at least 1 dance in the kitchen today.

I've been hit with the CC gremlins the past couple of days with my iPhone and iPad - I cleared the cookies, cache, turned them off and on, etc., and nothing.  Finally I looked at the screen and it said something about Contact Cruise Critic Help - which I did.  Whether it was that or the CC gods just smiled favourably on me, but I was able to get the functions to work for me again.  I understand others have had the same problem of late.

The yard work is all done for now, and there aren't any cruises to get ready for for a long time, so I think I'll take out the sewing machine and work on some gift bags for Christmas to donate to the Boys & Girls club.  After the bags are used to hold gifts, they can be repurposed by the recipients for a myriad of things, so are much better than the paper ones.

Neither DH nor I are a fan of tofu, so today's menu suggestion will just stay a suggestion.  I'm going to try to make a version of the Jaeger sauce from a couple of weeks ago to go over chicken breasts for dinner tonight.  Accompanied by mixed vegetables and a side salad, that's the meal we'll be able to enjoy on the deck this evening.  And wine.

@mamaofami Happy Anniversary to you & Sam; best wishes for a happy reunion soon so you can really celebrate your years together.

@cat shepard I almost wish you hadn't posted that bread recipe . . . it looks like it would be delicious.  I will have to get some rye flour before I try it, but I'm sure it will make a great bread for a cold winter's day (which I hope is still a few weeks away).

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Clinking the glasses together to cheer on all on the celebration list.  Stay well, be safe, wash your hands, wear your masks, and hydrate!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good Sunday morning!  Thank you for the Daily Rich and thank you for your lists Roy. Safe travels to you today.

I will pass on the days today but butterscotch pudding reminds me of my DM because she made a lot of pudding back in my childhood. We weren’t allowed sweets very often, probably why I can take it or leave it when it comes to desserts.

CC won’t let me log out and I was having the same problems as I’ve mentioned before but I tried getting to the HAL board a different way and it seems better. We’ll see.

DGD is here, she spent the night and we watched a movie last night, Jumanji. It’s getting harder and harder to find movies that the three of us will all enjoy. Teenagers. 🙃

We board the Koningsdam 3 weeks from today and still don’t know what the exact itinerary will be. I just saw on FB that Seth Wayne will be onboard.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Gremlins took my post so here I go again.

Julia, when digital cameras came out I switched over to point and shoot cameras.  The first one was a Sony.  That was followed by a Canon PowerShot SD870IS.  It was made in Japan and very good quality, but I wanted a camera with more megapixels and better zoom.  So I replaced it with a Canon PowerShot ELPH350 HS, made in China.  The photos are better, but the case on the 350 feels like it's made of heavy plastic instead of metal.  Right away the icons printed on the case started wearing off so you have to remember where to press to view your photos, etc. The 870 was made of metal and looks brand new, except it developed a black spot on the screen which is another reason I replaced it.

Then I started using both the 350 and my IPhone and I feel the photos from the IPhone are better.  I had so many photos I ran out of storage so updated to more memory on a newer IPhone.  I know the newest IPhones have better cameras than mine does, but I'm not ready to upgrade again.  I guess you could say I'm not good at deleting photos.  I'm sure sorting through them all would help!🤔

I just wish the IPhone had a better zoom on it.

The photos taken in Longyearbyen in 2013 were taken on the SD870.

Now I'll show you two photos taken with the ELPH 350 and the IPhone 8.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVICbvwcoDDHTiLrqr--c6oj?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1558786946

This next one is the IPhone 8.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKk7Qst6OM6Rl_pOKPSXCsa?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1558794206

I prefer the second one.  These were taken May 7, 2019 while on the Prinsendam.  It was our final cruise on that fine ship.  Our port here was St. Helier on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands.  The cruise was called the European River and Celtic Explorer cruise.

The reason I can tell which camera took what is because when I upload photos to Shutterfly they give me lots of information about it.  It will tell me what camera was used, what resolution, the focal length, exposure, the ISO speed, the aperture and whether or not the flash was used.  I'm not a photographer so I don't know what all that means!

Kirk, did your watch stop! Friday?😁

Geez, this is the second time I have done this.  One of two explanations, either I am losing my mind or our recent move to Ocracoke Island has made time stand still.  I am going with the latter.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

Fun days. Arrrr! I don't care for butterscotch pudding. Dancing is fun and burns calories!

Great quote.

I'll pass on the meal. I tried tofu, and no. The drink I'll pass on and I like the wine.

I haven't been to Norway. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the kind comments on my pictures yesterday. I'm just relaxing today. It's sunny and less humid. I need to redo my TV setup, as it keeps rebooting. Sony claims a factory reset should fix it, but then you lose all settings. I will put this off a bit I think. Finally getting into the new dentist tomorrow morning. I'm tired of chewing on one side for the past month!

@KirkNC You confused me, lol.

@cat shepard Glad the bread turned out. I'll have to try it.

@rafinmd Safe travels.

@mamaofami HAPPY 62nd ANNIVERSARY!

@Lady Hudson I hope BIL continues to make progress. Sad about the Covid case there.

@St. Louis Sal Enjoy the theater.

@smitty34877 Sorry you two had to go through that; people can be so mean and stupid.

@VMax1700 Glad to hear Mrs VMax is feeling well again.

@garlictown Love the pirate photos.

Prayers for the care list and cheers for the celebration list.

Stay safe and wear your mask. Our children's hospital had to open a tent in the parking lot because they're so busy!
