luvmygirlz Posted September 21, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2021 How "obstructed" are the balcony views on the Quantam - I am looking at a balcony for an alaskan cruise, but a lot of the ones available say obstructed.

It depends on the location (all on deck 6) - it varies. @Merion_Mom can tell you which cabin to avoid.
luvmygirlz Posted September 21, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted September 21, 2021 are there any that are total obstruction?
reallyitsmema Posted September 21, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2021 The obstruction is the lifeboats or the davits that hold the lifeboats. Some balconies face the side of a lifeboat, you can see over the lifeboat if you stand at the railing but if you want to sit on your balcony, your view is blocked. If you search this forum, there are lots of pictures, so try searching the cabin number you are looking to book. You will have better luck finding pictures if you search for Anthem instead of Quantum as Quantum usually sails in Asia.
luvmygirlz Posted September 21, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2021 What about deck 8 or above? should there be obstructions on those decks?

I do not know of any obstructed balconies on deck 8 or above but if there are, they should be marked when you try to book.

Ovation categorizes some on deck 7 as obstructed (they are really not), but on any Q class there should not be any above deck 6.

The most forward cabins on both Deck 7 and Deck 8 are categorized as obstructed. The balconies are in the superstructure and have a large circular window. Merion_Mom Posted September 21, 2021 #15 Share Posted September 21, 2021 6310 BAD cabin. Very obstructed. Adjacent to the back of the mezzanine of Two70. Noisy. Wall blocks ALL view from that side. Davits hanging in front of balcony.
