Luggage storage under bed is not unique to Disney cruise ships. Every cruise ship I have been on has space under the bed for luggage storage.

I guess it is common now, but when DCL first started, it wasn't. Not all RCCL ships had the bed high enough for a full sized suitcase to fit underneath, just the smaller carry on size.  I can remember being impressed when 3 large suitcases, full sized Graco carseat (folded flat) and Bob stroller (with rear wheels removed) fitted under the bed.
