jstrutton Posted September 24, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2021 We are on the Carnival Miracle from LAX to Hawaii in January. Supposedly they dock at 0800 on Sunday but was wondering what the earliest I can safely get a flight from LAX. There is a 1135 Delta flight and also a 115 Delta flight; would prefer the earlier one but just not sure. We are planning to just take Uber or taxi directly from the dock to LAX. Would think traffic won't be too bad on a Sunday morning but never been in the part of the country before so not sure. Any feedback would be appreciated. CruiserBruce Posted September 24, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2021 Take the 1:15. You might make the 11:35, but its going to be stressful. LAX is huge. Clearing Immigration and Customs is never guaranteed to be a smooth process.

Jay Arriving at 8am does not mean you will be off the ship at that time. All depends how long it takes customs to clear the ship. Never try to predict LA area traffic, delays occur at anytime. You can make the 1135am flight if nothing goes wrong. Is it worth the inconvenience of missing your flight or knowing that you will be at LAX with plenty of time to spare with the 115pm flight.
KeepCalmBearOn Posted September 24, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2021 I would book the 1:15 flight, no question. (but I would check LGB flights)
jstrutton Posted September 25, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted September 25, 2021 All, thanks for the feedback. I'm agreeing that the 115 flight is better than taking a chance with the earlier flight. Just gives us more non-stress time. As far as checking flight from LGB, that don't have any flight in the noonish timeframe that connects us back to the East Coast.
