There is another thread on this where I explained our procedure. Has worked on our last four cruises on Equinox. Allure, Edge and Oasis.

I did try searching but the search facility is useless now on CC, as I knew I had seen something about this.

The prior post shows the steps. I need to screenshot that picture. 😂.

On FOTS two weeks ago it was possible to insert your sea pass card and load the OBC into the slot machine, then cash out right away.  No percentage taken -- no questions asked.

how did you do it?  I could not figure it out when we were there last weekend. I got the instructions on how to do it now, so will do it on our next cruise.  On Freedom, ended up buying a ton of booze for my husband to bring home just to use it up

Follow the instructions @LilBlackDress posted.  Also you can ask the casino attendants how to load money from your account and they will walk you through it.  They don't need to know if you play or not -- you can cash out whenever you want.

Thank you.  So register $300, play a bit then cash out. Repeat as necessary!

I didn't play...

I had a Cash Account for my SeaPass so I take out a lot out at Guest Services, but they would let me take out the Non- Refundable amount. So I went to the Casino, Put my card in, followed the direction and took out some money each day...
When I was done taking the cash out, I went to GS and secured my account with a CC

If your taking money out at the casino, you can have a CC on file.

If you take money out at Guest Services they will charge you a 5% fee unless you have a cash account.

I start out with a cash account because sometimes the smoke is too strong for me in the casino. I am an ex - smoker and can normally tolerate a lot, but sometimes the casino for me is too much

Yes but play not necessary unless you can’t resist the temptation.

Last week on Mariner, ability to transfer to room charge worked the first time but was blocked the second time I tried.  I was told that was because I did not play enough before I cashed out and the system locked me out for approximately 24 hours.  Not sure exactly how long it was actually locked, but it was more than 30 hours.  Just for reference, I only transferred $30 and played about $5 before cashing out.

I believe the 5% fee in the casino is based on your casino status.  No status or Choice and you pay 5%, Prime or higher and you don't.  I took my remaining $120 OBC out of a slot machine at the end of last week's Allure cruise and paid 5% (I'm lowly Choice).  I immediately cashed out...didn't make a single pull.  No problem.

I also took $200 in chips from my room account on a Craps table, paying the 5%.  I read somewhere that you will get "promotional" chips which cannot be cashed in.  You must play them and get regular chips back in winnings.  When I got my chips, they were regular chips, but it was early in the cruise and my OBC had not yet been applied.  It probably looked like I was paying cash.  Would I have received promotional chips if my OBC was already there?  Who knows?  I planned on playing so it wouldn't have mattered to me.

Wow I cashed out $250 and $300 all without playing. It might be ship specific (Freedom) or they changed the rules.

Works on Anthem too. Followed the instructions posted on here and cashed out our $200 OBC. DH tried to ‘steal’ it off me to play the machines but I held onto it tightly 😁
