Seas are 3 1/2 meters. I was in a long line this morning at the front desk, and a young officer came up to me, I guess he saw me holding a booking confirmation and my navigator app open to my account. Robert, the Finance Manager, said that he would take care of my little problem that my shareholder OBC had not been credited. I said I guessed the Night Auditor would fix it. (My little joke…) As a very serious Dutchman, he assured me in no uncertain terms that there is no more Night Auditor - the are now called Finance Specialists and they work in the daytime. So now we know! Thanks for all the great reports, Ann. Appreciate all the information. The night auditor is gone and now a Finance Specialist who works in the daytime? YIPPEE 🙂 Hope your shareholder credit appears today for you 🤞
Florida_gal_50 Posted October 7, 2021 #102 Share Posted October 7, 2021 Let’s hope the bumps are over now. I looked at your itinerary a few days ago. It looks wonderful. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Rare kazu Posted October 7, 2021 #103 Share Posted October 7, 2021 @Vict0riann & @VMax1700 sorry you had such a gruelling day yesterday. It does not sound like fun at all 😔 @VMax1700thanks for confirming about the bringing beverages on board rules.. Sorry to hear about your wet clothes 😔 Hope they dry quickly 🤞
cat shepard Posted October 7, 2021 #104 Share Posted October 7, 2021 @Vict0riann& @VMax1700 I sympathize with yesterday’s ordeal. Someone was not thinking that a two hour ride + approximately an hour at each end was a heck of a lot of time without water and a snack. Hope the rest of the cruise is everything you want it to be. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
Rare Vict0riann Posted October 7, 2021 Author #105 Share Posted October 7, 2021 Busy day today. We had a wine tasting at 1, then a Mariners’ Reception for 4 and 5 star, and then the Cruise Critic Meet & Greet. The sea has calmed down a lot and the skies are blue. Things are looking up. We are going to the Pinnacle at 8 tonight, and I might have a little nap to prepare for it, after a fair amount of wine. Oh, and the Captain’s greeting is at 7:15. We will need a sea day to recover. At the M&G we met Rich Fielder, and Pat had a nice chat with Colin. I think there were about 20 there, some had been on the ship for previous cruises. It was all very casual, and relaxed. Evidently we are 877 on board. 17

Seasick Sailor Posted October 7, 2021 #107 Share Posted October 7, 2021 Thank you Ann and Colin for your perspective. I noticed your embarkation area yesterday looked a "bit" dated. Hoping today makes a 180! Ann have a great dinner in Pinnacle and remember to share pictures. (Are you having the clothesline bacon?) sigh...
Cruising-along Posted October 7, 2021 #108 Share Posted October 7, 2021 It was great meeting you today Ann. Lo and behold, I can post on CC again — hope it lasts!
Rare Vict0riann Posted October 7, 2021 Author #109 Share Posted October 7, 2021 More excitement. A couple of hours ago, there was an announcement by the officer of the watch that a person should immediately report in. It sounded like she might be missing. And just now the Captain has announced that there is going to be a medical evacuation by helicopter. And the officer of the watch then came on to call the fire crew to report fully dressed. Something is going on. 2

I haven’t decided about that, my usual first dinner there is the crab cakes, and the small tenderloin, but I had steak last night, so I think it will be the lamb chops tonight. Does the bacon go with lamb chops? Decisions, decisions. 4

Rare Vict0riann Posted October 7, 2021 Author #116 Share Posted October 7, 2021 The helicopter arriving. I can’t tell what country it is. I took the picture through the door. Captain said to stay inside, and no flash photography. 1

SilvertoGold Posted October 7, 2021 #118 Share Posted October 7, 2021 Ann, VMax: you two are phenomenal! I feel I am sailing right along with you. Well, except for the bacon. Thank you both for letting us come along with you in style! 2

I think the crab cakes are much better.
Rare VMax1700 Posted October 7, 2021 #121 Share Posted October 7, 2021 We went to MDR tonight. Really surprised that we walked straight in and were given a two top right at the stern window at about 6.15pm. Waiter introduced himself and asked did we require drinks and they were delivered to us before he had taken our dinner order. Impressive. The filet mignon Oscar was ok and the L'escargots were goodish. The chocolate souffle goes with everything! 8
