WannabeaTraveler Posted February 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2006 I know we have to take our birth certificats and all, but what do they do with them? Do they keep them or give them back to us? I also read about making copies to take with you at ports. Do you need to do this?
Dockman123 Posted February 18, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2006 Once you check in at the pier they should give it back to you right away. We always keep a copy with us when we go on excursions just in case an emergency arises.
Sheffie Posted February 18, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2006 You don't need to take your BC on shore w/ you (it would be helpful in no way), nor your driver's license (except for a few ports where they will tell you to so that you can get back onto the pier). You might want to bring your driver's license for ID purposes on shore, but I have never had to use it. You will need to take your SeaPass. Don't forget those credit cards!!! Cotton Posted February 18, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2006 About having ID on shore..... The past three times I've been leaving Cozumel to go back to the ship, there's been a MX official standing there asking to see passengers' photo IDs, as well as the ship's cards. kitty9 Posted February 19, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2006 I agree with Cotton. I've been asked for a photo ID before I was allowed to get back to the dock area in Progreso, Belize, Panama, Jamaica and many other ports as well as the ship's security officer who stands at the stairway to the ship. We've always been told, either by the shore excursion manager or in the daily newsletter to take a photo ID along with your ship's pass whenever you leave the ship.
