Time for another trip with John&Lala

 

Our cabins are two of those round windows above Sabor

 

Somehow I chose deck 7, usually avoid it. But this was a chance to try another unique cabin, so here we are

 

 

Boardwalk View. Technically it's a Promenade View that just happens to be over the BW. Go figure

 

I just love this cutaway, so I thought I'd share it

We were on the July test cruise. Looking forward to a full cruise this time.

We will be right across the Boardwalk from you on deck 7 promenade (?) view above Johnny  Rockets.  We have been in the Promenade view cabins many times, Love the cabin.  See you all Sunday.😀

OK, maybe I should explain the title.

 

Word on social media is that the entertainment staff and Casino staff have some covid positives.

 

Apparently almost all the shows have been cancelled this week. No idea about what we will see, but not expecting much.

 

Found of FB a couple days ago. since confirmed across multiple sources

 

For anyone with an upcoming Allure of the Seas cruise planned… I want to give you a heads up. One I certainly would have taken into consideration myself. If the circumstances had been known.  Love RC so let me get that out of the way. But someone needs to make this right for everyone on board. 

First, Mama Mia has been canceled the entire week due to “technical difficulties”. Day one we were given that info. After hundreds of people inquired as to why they couldn’t book the show on their planners. 

For those with the bucket list adventure….The zip line is not and will not be working due to “technical difficulties”. 

After sitting at the aqua show tonight for a showing for “everyone” for about 40 mins (to be sure to get a good seat) we were told about 5-10 mins after show time that it was canceled. The Aqua show as of today (day 4) is canceled the remainder of the trip, due to….TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES.

The ice show is also canceled for the remainder of the trip. For you guessed it….. technical difficulties. 
Three cabins…$10,000 (ish) 3 of the guests on their first ever cruise. 

Literally feeling like we are on some type of “test cruise” and wondering on what planet, this is okay. I completely understand things happen. But lots of things happening, something needs to be done. 2135 guests on board. And maybe not all of them care. I do!
I bragged and bragged about RC. Got additional family to come with us. That have never cruised before. And here we are, disappointment after disappointment. 
Did I also mention this was for a once in a lifetime 60th birthday trip???? Bummed is an understatement.

I’ll let you know if they do anything to make it right.

I forgot to say why I despise deck 7.

 

For those not in the 'know', there is no way to go from port to starboard at the aft elevator bank.

 

The Boardwalk sign is in that location. So if you are on the wrong side of the ship, you have to walk the stairs up or down, cross over, and go back up or down. It's a Royal PIA

 

I'll try and document how many times I screw up.  Good thing is I can go down to BW via the Rock Wall steps when I need to. Plus it's convenient to the Aqua Theater balcony, so that's a plus😁

We were on her aug 29th and will be getting aboard as you leave for 28 days. We have never been that long so will see how it goes. Have a good trip and hope the trans goes  okay in Oct . Will be awaiting your review.   Bob & Nancy.     John ,if all goes well will get to pinnacle Jan. 10th.

Got Covid test at Walgreens this morning. Easy Peasy. Had first two appointments of the day. Took 10 minutes, results in an hour.

 

We had backups with the at home kits from Royal. Will save them for Oasis in December

My all-time favorite - hope you get to see it! We are so excited for our Nov cruises, following along to know what to expect in this new cruise environment. Have fun 🤩

Similar thing happened to us on Celebrity a month ago. Two of the production cast tested positive so all the singers and dancers were self isolating . The cruise director did a good job though in getting last minute replacement headliners so there was a show every night.  

 

I would be disappointed though to miss Mama Mia, the aqua show and the ice show 😢

So since you do not board until Sunday I am guessing the events listed above were on a previous cruise?  Hoping you do get some good entertainment, no one takes that cruise for the itinerary.

I typically enjoy an eastern itinerary.

Yea, kinda disappointed in the CD. Marc Walker is generally on top of things.  Haven't seen any FB posts from him

This caught us numerous times on our last cruise, what a pain. We are on deck 9 in 3 weeks so don’t have to worry about that this time.

How many days ahead did you have to schedule your test at Walgreens? Was it the Rapid (red dot), the PCR (black dot) or the Binax (blue dot, choice #3) ?
