I understand the balcony is HUGE, but what is the room like compared with standard balcony rooms?

We have room 4228 on the Pride later this month. It has a wrap around balcony. I forget the sq footage, but it is much larger than a standard room. If you call Carnival and give them the room number and the ship, they will give you all the specifics.

The wrap around balcony cabins on the Spirit class ship are Category 11's (suites). There are also Cat 11's and 12's on the sides of the ship but the ones that wrap around are Cat 11's. The cabins are much larger than the regular balcony rooms since they are suites - I forget the actual measurments but are much larger.

We were in 6267 catory 8E extended balcony. Our room was like 12 feet by 16 feet not counting the entrance way where the closets is on one side and the bathroom on the other side. From looking at the diagram of the spirit class ships I believe all the balconies not suites are about the same size-the only diff. in an extended balcony is it jutts out another 2 feet or so. I am explaining all this because I have seen posts that thought extended balconies and wrap-around balconies are the same thing-they are not.

Anyway I have no idea the dimension of the suites but as our 8E was very nice-as nice as the staterroms on HAL ships without balconies-you have got to have a very nice cabin.

One thing that disapointed me about the Miracle balcony cabin was the shower area was as small as RCCL ships-we did not have the nice bathroom we had on the fanasty class ships-inside and outside cabins. Hopefully your suite will be nicer-it has to be since you have a tub with a jacuzzi. Looking at the spirit diagram your suite is probally the same lenght 16 feet or so but the width is more so instead of 12 feet it is more like 15 feet. If you go to the Carnival site it will tell you square footage.

The aft category eleven suites on the Spirit class ships are awesome. I have had cabin #4228 on the Pride and Legend. The balcony is a little over forty-one feet long.

The cabin is set up with four different rooms. Upon entering the cabin, you will have a sitting room that contains a sofa, chair, desk and chair, mini bar/fridge and TV with VCR. Just off of the sitting room is a hallway that leads to the bedroom and the door to the balcony. This wall(sitting room included) contains four floor to ceiling windows. Also just off of the sitting room is a dressing room that has a three sided dressing table with large mirrors. There is also a walk-in closet. The bathroom has marble floors and counter tops. There is two sinks and also a glass enclosed shower with Jacuzzi jets. The bedroom is just off of the dressing room. It contains another TV with VCR and the safe. It had three floor to ceiling windows.

Overall just an awesome room all the way around. I have photos in the link below of the balcony on the Pride.

Gordon,

My cruise in cabin 4228 on the Pride is almost here! I'm drooling reading your description of our room.

cruisegator2 so the suites have a seperate bedroom? Is there a door for privacy? I am wondering so if like a family of 3 if the child could sleep on the sofa and parents have privacy.

That is one reason why we have never booked a suite-we felt we could do with the smaller room if there is no privacy anyway but it would be worth the extra bucks to get privacy.

It is my understanding that the AFT CAT 11's Wrap-arounds (SPIRIT CLASS) are the only "multi-roomed" cabins.. ironically though, they will only book TWO people in those cabins... whereas the NON-CORNER suites (11's and 12's) will accommodate FOUR.

RUTTIE: there is a substantial (not complete)overhang...if you go to the edge and turn around and look up you can see and talk to those above (or below, as the case may be)...

I don't understand that. It looks like they would do some 2 room suites for families. I know we looked into getting a suite on Inspiration since our daughter was with us on that cruise but it would have cost us another $1000 plus and it was just one big room. The only perk I could see was the jacuzzi in the bathroom and a butler. We have a jacuzzi in our bathroom at home we rarely use and to me a butler just meant someone else to tip. so instead we booked the balcony on Miracle for just hubby and me and got 2 cruises for the price we would have paid for the suite.

I wonder why you can't book 3 people in those suites?

ruttie-in our cabin with the extended balcony it was covered-if someone leaned out over the balcony looking you could see them from your balcony if you were doing the same-otherwise you could not see others.

Due to the slant (slope) on the BACK of the ship, the overhang is not complete... on the side it is straight up and down (complete overhang) ... the extended balconys are on the sides of the ship - as I recall. If you get the wrap-around, then you will have a little of both!

Carnival does not have "Butlers".

Thanks for the info on the balcony.. I don't really care if someone sees me or if I see them as long as i can find a little shade everyonce in a while on my balcony.. that is my favorite thing to do sit in shade on my balcony watching the ocean and reading a good book!!! And princess has alot of uncovered balconies totally exposed so I was just checking!! Now i am wanting to book sitting here thinking about my balcony....
