Casino Reward Discount Certificate

Can Discount Certificates be applied retrospectively to a booking?
DH received a $100 Discount Certificate from his casino play on our recent Harmony sailing. I completely forgot about it when I booked a cruise on Wonder for July 2022 a few days ago.
Also, does the discount apply to all sailings or just specific ones? First time he’s received a Certificate and don’t really want to spend an hour on the phone on hold to Royal only to be told we can’t use it.

TIA.

Truthfully, if you call the Casino Royal Representative line, they answer way more quickly than the regular line. I have waited maybe two minutes at most last few times I called recently. And they probably can answer that question better than a regular representative.

Usually the $$ off can be used for any sailing within a year of the cert issue date. If they follow their rules, they will not allow you to apply to an already booked reservation. However, if you get someone willing to consider that you just booked it a few days ago, and had the certificate at time of booking, you may get lucky. Can't hurt to try.

Don't Fall For It!!

We got one - called our travel agent (like it says on the certificate); she called RCI and they said "NO!  ONLY NEW BOOKINGS."😟

Then I called the number on the Cert. and got a really nice lady (Chris).  Asked if I could put it towards one of the already 7 cruises we have  booked next year or possible OBC;  she put me on hold for about 7 or 8 minutes to go "check".

She came back and said "Yes, we can apply to one of your cruises".   I gave her the booking number and she looked it up and said "you have this booked through a TA - you'll have to get them to do it.🙄

When I told her my TA had already tried, she said, "I'll put a note in here for your booking info so it will show that it has been approved".

I called my TA and told her all of that - she called and called me back and said RCI told her, "The answer is NO, whoever you talked to gave you BAD INFORMATION, and there was not even any notes anywhere in the computer about your conversation with Chris."

We got a couple (Wife and I) and were planning on booking 2 rooms on a future cruise. We booked while on Allure in August 2021, for a cruise in August 2022.  Booked it no problem, got a great rate, good rooms etc....Had to wait a couple days to have it load up, called mid week the week after, and were told that that we needed to book it again with Casino Royale.  Basically they work as you TA, and by booking direct with Royal at Next Cruise it created a massive cluster.....Finally got it sorted out but a total pain in the you know what...regardless, it was $800 so I wasn't letting it go!

Call Casino Royale. We booked onboard the Oasis last month and then received our certificates a couple of days later. Things were hectic when we got home and didn’t get around to calling until we’d been back 2 weeks but they added it without a problem.

Called Casino Royale’s UK number today to ask if they would apply the certificate retrospectively and was told no, it has to be used at the time of booking. I asked if there was any leeway with this and was advised to ring the US number (I’m in the UK) and they “may possibly” be able to help. Is it  worth pursuing this? The certificate is only for $100 and don’t want to run up a large bill on my cell phone only to be told no again.

In the past (2 weeks ago) we were able to apply a certificate to an existing booking we had with the casino. If you booked while on the same cruise you earned the certificate they will also honor but they must transfer the booking to the casino and it gets repriced. If you already have a casino discount on your booking you will have to choose which you want, they say they don't allow 2 casino certificates or discounts per booking.

Anybody ever had any luck booking a cruise after the deadline on a Casino free cruise? Mine had to be booked by Oct 7th for a cruise by Dec 31st but I got Covid and didn't get out of bed for 10 days and didn't get around to booked by the 7th.

The certificate was earned on our Harmony cruise last month. The cruise I’m trying to get it applied to was booked over the phone with Royal shortly after our return (I completely forgot about the certificate at the time). There is no casino discount already on the booking.
