iPad problems anyone?

Sorry to start a new thread just for this, but I've spotted a few posts in various threads suggesting that the problems I'm having replying to posts, creating new threads and logging in using an iPad are pretty common.

 

I'm posting this from a PC, and Android devices are OK too, but the forum's basically read only on the iPad, and that may well apply to iPhones too.  Maybe Apple doesn't like the competition!

 

Anyone else care to share any iPad or iPhone problems for the Mods to feed back to the IT team?

I only use my iPad and have never had any problems.

The powers that be are aware of the iPad issues. On the forum assistance board in the ‘not staying logged in’ thread myself and some others have feed back about this, and the info has been passed on to the developers.

 

I have found that clearing cookies for cruise critic helps. I’ve done this twice so far. I’ve also found that the issues are sporadic for me - I’m posting this on my iPad

I access the forum via iPad.

I’ve had issues with frequently not being able to ”like” posts

And not being able to quote posts without the whole thread being included in the quote (needless to say I abandoned those).

I've tried logging out and also clearing website data - neither of which makes any difference…..

I agree with Dermotsgirl that it is sporadic as I’ve been ok this afternoon.

I have had problems twice trying to reply to a post on my iPad.  I did post it in the ‘not staying logged in’ thread.  But I think it is my iPad, that occasionally has other problems.  Last time it happened, I went to my iPad mini and it went okay, so I think for me, it is my device.  EM

I am unable to post a response to threads on CC from my iPad .  I am signed in.  The entire thread is quoted in the response window even though I haven’t quoted anything.    I type in my response, scroll down to “submit” and the post seems like it has gone through but doesn’t show up in the thread.  When I go back in, my post has been saved but has not been submitted.  What am I doing wrong?  Is this a new wrinkle on CC?

I think it is your iPad, because I am responding from my iPad, which is all I have ever used to post with on CC, with no problems.  Reboot the iPad completely, and see if that works.

I’m not sure what is happening to you but I see a post of yours in the Regent v. Oceania thread. It was posted three minutes before this message. This is posted from my iPad.

Thanks.  I posted the message from my MacBook as this thread and the regent vs. Oceania tread wouldn’t post from my iPad.  I’m on my iPad now. Let’s see if this goes through!

Voila!  Perhaps my iPad was having a rough morning.  Who knows what happened as I didn’t reboot or do anything different,  the mysteries of cyberspace!

This happens on my ipad a couple times  week.  Rebooting did nothing.  I just come back in a few hours or the next day and the problem has fixed itself.

 

Also, I often cannot like a post, later I can, even after confirming signin. 
 

 It is a CC-ipad intermittent interaction bug.  CC does not  have Amazon-level resources to  stay on top of them.

Ongoing problems with CC and for the record, I am using a desktop computer not an Ipad :

 

This morning I signed in, read a few posts and attempted to react to a couple using the "like" button . . . didn't work . . . again!

 

Logged out, went away and did a couple of tasks . . . came back, opened the link and logged in again . . . didn't even have a "like" button to use!

 

On reaching the bottom of the comments page I find I am being asked to log in, although I have already done so and unread posts are in bold print.

 

Log in again, this time at the bottom of the page . . . well that was the plan, but it doesn't work! ! !

Next . . . log out again at the top of the page . . .

 

I was going to clear the site cookies again, but first went back to the bottom of the page and tried that log in prompt again . . . and it worked . . . obviously didn't work before because I WAS already logged in although nothing was working as it should.

 

Oh well . . . with out locality in lockdown (no) thanks to a few people breaking their quarantine and bringing covid here . . . doing all this helps to pass the time.

I have the same problem.  When I try to post, I get the whole of the posts showing up with a "sign in" prompt at the bottom.  I then have to go and click log out and then log in which takes me to my log in info.  I then have to give my user name and my password!  ALL THIS for EVERY post.  I'm done with Cruise Critic something I really enjoyed till they destroyed it fixing something that wasn't broken.  I'm on a desk top too.  On the bright side, maybe I'll get something else done!

A new and most annoying problem today :

 

I am having to log out and back in between each thread if I want to react or comment!!!

 

I am leaving this as is, having just discovered the (previous problem) whole thread has attached itself to my two lines above . . . enough!!

 

Well it had happened as above, but when I attempted to post, having moved to a different thread I was once again not recognised as being logged in. Once more logged out and back in and of course the whole thread attachment is no longer here.

 

And I repeat, as stated in my previous post 5 days ago, I am not using an iPad, I am using a desktop computer with which I have had no problems until this recent spate on CC.

I just noticed that when I try and post while using my IPAD, the posts do not show up.  This is true for both Google Chrome & Safari. I am able to post using my Macbook Pro or my desktop computer.  Any ideas on whats going on?

I am having the exact same problem as the op. Using both my iPad and iPhone, when I try to quote someone, the quote box shows the entire thread and at the bottom, it shows sign-in options. It’s very odd.

I can post from my iPad ok, however it is currently loading photographs upside down. I have shut the browser, cleared Safari etc but still the same. I can happily load photos from my Android phone. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this before but cannot find the answer about fixing it.
