These are only photos taken with my iPad. They appear in Photos the correct way up and also quite happily load into Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc the correct way up. This is only an issue with Cruise Critic.

The issue is how Cruise Critic reads the image file data. If you take the photo with your iPad camera lens on the top left in landscape orientation it will be correct on the Cruise Critic website. If you have the camera lens on the bottom right in landscape orientation it will be  upside down on Cruise Critic. I took the two photos below to illustrate. They show correctly in Photos. It is a web site issue. But a minor one as the photo should be taken with the lens on the upper right.

I am replying now from an iPad on iOS 15. No problem quoting or liking. It sounds like you are not logged in.

I am logged in, it shows my name at the top right, but it’s giving me the log in screen again at the end of my reply. Works fine in Chrome,  but all my bookmarks are in Safari.

These problems, mainly specific to iPads, have been going on for weeks now, and I started this thread more than a month ago.  It has nothing to do with not being logged in - everything to do with using an iPad (works perfectly for me on Android and Windows).

 

IT are apparently looking into it, but it's still causing a lot of grief to iPad users - and many have given up on it.

You are logged into the Cruise Critic web site but not the forums. That is why you see the log in at the end of your reply. The two different  login back ends. The two login backends  are probably the cause of many users issues

I’m replying on my iPad - sometimes I can post replies and like posts. Other times I can’t. I remain logged in all the time though, so it’s not as if I’m constantly logging on in different ways. It just seems completely random

I think you're misunderstanding the situation.  There's a known, but intermittent problem with iPads, and has been for a few weeks since some IT changes were made.  It has little to do with logins, and everything to do with posting (or reacting to posts) using an iPad.

 

The IT people are aware, and are working on a fix.

I have two iPads. An iPad Pro I use in my living room and an iPad mini I have on my nightstand. I have not had any issues with posting or reacting with either. 

You can’t quote  or react if logged out. So the issue seems to be that CC is seeing you as being not logged in.

Thank you. That sounds like what I’m dealing with. It’s been a few weeks, and the issue is with posting and reactions. It’s good to know it’s not a personal issue. 😆

I think we've all been around here long enough to know that you can't quote or react if logged out - or post for that matter.  That's not the issue - and many of us using iPads also use other devices and are using those to post/quote/react.  That's why you're seeing the posts - not because people are logged out.

 

I'm pleased that you have no problem with your iPads, but please accept many people do , and it's nothing whatever to do with not being logged in.  The problem is a known one, it's intermittent, and it's being looked into by the IT team.

Sign in to what CC or Princess? I just signed  into both on my iPad and it worked. Shut your iPad down and bring it up again.
