Yes, just walked through the casino on Jewel

and one side is smoking 😮💨

That is so ridiculous (fleetwide) as you can't escape the stench. The stench also drifts out into the other areas adjacent to the casino.

Smoking as allowed and contrary to what is posted in the compass, you do not need be playing to smoke on the casino.  You can't sit at a table, but you can sit at any machine and simply smoke.   Or a group can just sit at two or three machines and smoke.

Yep. RC casinos are nothing but smoking lounges that allow gambling at times.

I don't smoke but if this is a big deal to you then you should pick a line that suits your preferences better. JMHO

Thanks, but we mainly cruise for the Flowrider, so that is not an option.

Fortunately no smoking is allowed on the flowrider. At least I don’t think so. Hmmm.  Maybe if it’s set up with two lanes and you are on the starboard side....

On Freedom last month, the casino was reserved for vaccinated passengers only.  Unfortunately smoking was allowed. Either it was the new filtration system or a lot less people, but I have to say the smell wasn’t as bad as before COVID.

I’m not a smoker and can’t stand the smell but compared to pre pandemic it was tolerable for a few minutes. I also like the Celebrity policy of no smoking indoors - wish RCI would follow.

I wore my mask and that helped with  the smoke.

I am not sailing on another line as suggested. I have lots of cruises on RCCL and am not starting over on another line.

I have hope that the smoking policy will eventually change.

I am a non smoker and I hate the smoke stink....but I like to gamble just a bit more...so I do play but I must admit no for as long as I would like...the smell eventually gets to me and I have to leave.

I was recently on the Ovation of the Seas and it wasn't too bad at all. Not sure if it was that there was only 1800 passengers (4400 is max) or they have a more modern air filtration system....

Anyways I would really prefer a non smoking Casino.

So the only unvaccinated people on the Freedom were kids under 12. So, unvaccinated passengers (kids under 12) would not be sitting in the casino. Smoking is allowed in all Royal casinos. And on our Freedom cruise, there was a lot of smoke (and a lot from non-players).

zekekelso you misunderstood. We hate the smell of cigarette smoke, and believe it  to be very unhealthy. The last thing we would want is smoking on the flowrider.

I believe families traveling together were not given the green wristlet regardless of age if there was an unvaccinated child with them.  So if an adult wanted to go to the casino alone, they weren’t allowed.

I was on the same Freedom cruise you were on and compared to some of my other pre-pandemic cruises the smoke was not as bad - although I could only stay for a few minutes.

Great point.  According to the CDC, (if you believe anything they say), in 2019 only 14% of adults in the US smoked.  RCCL makes 86% of us smell the stink while catering to 14%.  Something seems out of whack.

I pointed this out in another smoking thread a while back and got flak for it by someone claiming RCI would lose revenue if they banned smoking in the casino.  I think the opposite would occur- the non smokers would show up and gamble more thus increasing revenue.
