The statement to travel agents was just that it is "currently being rolled out" but did not give dates. Given that the Grand is an older ship it might be one of the later ones to be done. You could also try calling Princess and asking if they know. Make sure to note on your preferences that you're vegetarian because that might help too. So, because of that "being rolled out" statement I called Princess because we also are sailing in a few weeks. I hope you get a phone rep who is more knowledgeable than the one I got. I was on the phone with her for about a half hour and she kept "checking" but I never really got an answer.

There is on the app under dining preferences. I was also able to do it through the booking, if you used a travel agent have them check the booking, if you booked yourself, check the app and maybe the website. My booking options screens are different but my app is the same as everyone else's so you should be able to do it there. We are not vegan, but do enjoy dining at a couple local vegan restaurants, and the dishes are superb. Hoping the chefs at Princess can delight our taste buds. Rare Ombud Posted October 7, 2023 #157 Share Posted October 7, 2023 Emerald Princess is an older ship too but it had a rotating 18 vegan menus. I order vegan, no pepper, no added sodium, cheese or sour cream on the side. Sometimes confuses the assigned HW but eventually he realizes I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian with allergies & diet controlled high BP

rcprncss Posted November 4, 2023 #162 Share Posted November 4, 2023 Hi. I was wondering if anyone here knows of a FB group for vegan food for Princess cruises. I thought I saw someone mention it in the regular group and even when someone asked that person the name of the group, that person didn't respond. I tried searching and googling and I can't find anything. Thank you in advance.

Try that if it's available.

Bollycats Posted November 27, 2023 #166 Share Posted November 27, 2023 I am vegetarian, not vegan, but on my recent cruise I asked for the vegan menu twice because the regular menu didn't have anything vegetarian that appealed to me. I tried two of the vegan appetizers and loved them. The first one was the roasted pears with apricots and pistachios. The other was the cauliflower street taco which I included a picture of.
LidoLiz Posted November 27, 2023 #167 Share Posted November 27, 2023 My recent vegan dishes on Ruby Princess were hit and miss. The area for most improvement was presentation. I also noticed that the tomato-based dishes all really tasted the same, so I’m guessing they used the same recipe for the sauces. The tastiest dish was the soy maple portobello mushrooms… The worst dish, by taste, was the mushroom bourguignon..the mushrooms were under there somewhere, smothered in tomato sauce…. The walnut fettuccine turned out to be penne… …and tasted a lot like the Pasta alla Norma… The farfalle with tomatoes rang a bell… The Buddha bowl with sweet potato was excellent…. ….and the Baja cauliflower taco that was advertised as a “starter” dish filled the entire plate, but it was very good. On our two-week cruise, the vegan menu was repeated twice, so I just started ordering the vegetarian dishes off the main menu on the second week, These dishes were much better, including presentation, but it’s still early in the vegan menu rollout so patience is warranted. 1

There are 7 vegan menus and nothing has changed on any of the menus. On the regular menu we haven't received the same menu twice. Some items repeat but the presentation, sauces and menu items have been different every day. Also, my husband noticed the disclaimer in the small print at the bottom of the vegan menu last night. 🤔 And, yes, @LidoLiz - there seems to be just one tomato sauce for the pasta no matter how it's described. It's good but it definitely is always the same. Edited November 27, 2023 by chamima

I ordered dinner from this menu tonight, because the regular menu didn't really tempt me. My favorite dish was the Mumbai Frankie wrap. It was mildly spiced white bean and cauliflower filling. If I see that menu again, I would order 2 as a main dish. The spring veggie soup was tomato based, not at all what I expected. The portabello dish was tasty but too saucy. I think it should be served with brown rice. I wish they had descriptions, because the waiter wasn't sure.
