Rare mcatmcat Posted November 11, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Hello everyone Quick question. I sail on Saturday but I did the COVID test today at 2am. It’s 2 days before boarding but more then 48 hrs, I was wondering if they gonna give me a hard time at the port?

Cigar King Posted November 11, 2021 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Please do it, and let us know what happens. FWIW, I'm guessing they don't care about the hours, just the fact the date is within two days. I'm curious myself. Their text is somewhat ambiguous: "Vaccinated guests must take their pre-cruise test no more than 2 days before boarding." For myself, I was planning on boarding ~noon, and it would be nice if I could take the test in the morning, instead of the afternoon. I think we're over thinking this, but I don't want somebody to tell me 50 hours is more than two days.
gumshoe958 Posted November 11, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2021 The requirement is two days, not 48 hours. For a Saturday departure, you can get tested anytime on Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
hardinggrad Posted November 11, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2021 We were on the Sept 5th Allure cruise. Back then tests could be 3 days in advance, not 2 days. We took the emed test after midnight which was Thursday morning and had no problem with the check in prcoess or boarding the ship.
smokeybandit Posted November 11, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2021 That's why the requirement is 2 days, not 48 hours.
Jkaczanowski Posted November 11, 2021 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Sailed on a Sunday. Took emed tests 12:01AM on Friday. No problems at all at port.
marktwothousand Posted November 11, 2021 #8 Share Posted November 11, 2021 Just watch your time zone, otherwise you’re good going by calendar days not hours
klfrodo Posted November 11, 2021 #9 Share Posted November 11, 2021 My thoughts only 2 days means 48 hours in MY mind. Last thing I need is some overworked underpaid individual having a bad day and going on a power trip. I may be right in that it says 2 days, but that doesn't solve my problem if I'm standing on the dock watching the ship sail away.

As long as the date of test is two days before. Time has nothing to do with it.

sharktums Posted November 12, 2021 #15 Share Posted November 12, 2021 Did mine at 12:05am, no problem with boarding. Like others have said you just want to make sure whatever time zone it comes up in is the day you need.

goldengirl Posted November 12, 2021 #17 Share Posted November 12, 2021 As long as it’s 2 days it should be ok, it is a real hassle to find a place to get a test, that is for sure, and then you read the ship you plan on sailing on soon has cases of covid onboard. I wonder if they will cancel upcoming cruises on the ship. If so I want a full refund and not 125% credit on a future cruise. This is a lot of stress to go on a vacation, and we still do not know what. May happen or change when we get on board

May happen or change when we get on board Many ships have had positive Covid cases, none have cancelled the following week’s itineraries. Don’t stress yourself out over things that aren’t happening.
