TooManyWakeUpsTilWeSail Posted November 20, 2021 #76 Share Posted November 20, 2021 I was very fortunate that this promo came up now. My Sep-20 cruise was Covid canceled, replaced by Sep-21 that we canceled due to health issues. I rescheduled to Sep-22 without thinking. Found out it conflicted with a co-workers cruise yesterday. Found the May-22 rate for the same ship (Horizon) to be slightly less than my original booking. My TA even got the change fees waived and am getting a slight refund. So happy to afford a May cruise. While I can't claim to know how their marketing department works for sure, the purchase of Cheers would seem to align with my original claim. Cheers is good revenue and profit for the cruise lines. you know my first cruise back , I did the cheers package. Right after that cruise I got a $125 offer with $100 cash back, so essentially $25.......but did not purchase cheers, nor have I for the two after that. No more jackpot offers since that first.....time to add cheers lol

Rare LaRue1975 Posted November 20, 2021 #80 Share Posted November 20, 2021 I have not cruised since 2008, after retiring I started booking cruises again and we were starting with a family cruise in April 2020, of course that didn’t happen. The hubby and I will finally cruise on the Panorama in March and I have three more cruises on the books. I have been getting a few ok offers but nothing crazy like some of you. This morning I received an e-mail addressed to my daughter with a VIFP offer, it was a better deal than what I have been getting. For instance a 4 day cruise on the Radiance January 10 for two is $452 for her and $619 for me. She has cruised once in 2000 and was booked for the cancelled 2020 cruise, I am Gold with 46 days. I am not bothered by this, just find it interesting, obviously Carnival is confident I will return, lol!

calgaryhhr Posted November 24, 2021 #82 Share Posted November 24, 2021 We received some pretty decent casino offers. I was offered up to balcony for $100pp which includes $200 OBC and $100 Freeplay. My significant other received the same offer but only for interior rooms. We were able to book two cabins for August, 2022 on Mardi Gras. We went with Interior Spa cabins and mine booking came out to $459 and the SO cabin came out to $669.

There are still many food and labor costs that a $10 fare simply won't cover. However, getting people on board who are known to spend money is a different story. It doesn't have to be just casino. People who buy lots of food, dining, excursions, any spending etc are worthwhile getting on your ship. People who won't buy another thing definitely aren't worth $10 offers. I'm on an FJ6 rate for the Celebration in December 2022. $100pp for a spa room with included drinks for me, spa access for all and $300 in OBC. And it's only that high because we have three in the room. I'm on the Mardi Gras in July on the same rate (husband also qualified) so we paid $200 plus port fees and we get the $200 back in OBC plus free drinks everywhere, Freeplay and this is also a spa room so free spa access. Our onboard spend will likely be three times what we spent on the cruise rate, as we prefer specialty dining and all that. Pellaz Posted November 24, 2021 #84 Share Posted November 24, 2021 With these $25 and $30 total fare offers I've been getting, it would almost be criminal NOT to take advantage of them! Apparently the promotions I've been receiving expire as of Dec. 6th, and are only valid for cruises between now and the end of February.

Looking forward to what is offered after the 'Holiday rush' lol. Great time to be taking advantage of low demand for sure.
pks3 Posted November 24, 2021 #86 Share Posted November 24, 2021 How are you guys seeing these lower rates, are these offered to customers who've repeated a lot with Carnival?

For my offer we had only cruised once with Carnival about 10 years ago. But we had recently done a status match with the Carnival casino program where we submitted our Caesar's Rewards Diamond for a match. I'm assuming that might have been a contributing factor for the offers we received.
splintz Posted November 25, 2021 #89 Share Posted November 25, 2021 I was able to snatch one of the $35 cruises when the email first came out. I had several choices to choose from. There were a few $10 cruises that were coming up at the end of November. I ended up picking the sunshine out of Charleston leaving Feb 10th. I could also pick any interior room on any deck including porthole and forward facing window cabin included. I went with an interior on the 5th deck close to all the bars and the casino where I plan on spending most of my time. I am going solo so it was $70 + $107.86 taxes + $55.96 gratuities for a total of $233.82 for a 4 night cruise.

It always seems to be a mystery how one gets any offer from Carnival. For this latest offer, which included base rates as low as $15, my wife received it and I didn't. We both gamble just about the same amount. We've both been on the same number of cruises, have never bought the cheers package. Just luck of the draw? Or do they just like her better??🙂
Duanerice1 Posted November 29, 2021 #91 Share Posted November 29, 2021 Booked a 5 night balcony for $89 per person and an 8 night balcony for $307 a person. Of course they had to add those taxes and fees, but we are happy.

Pellaz Posted November 30, 2021 #93 Share Posted November 30, 2021 I bit the bullet and snagged a $35 rate on the Sunrise in February. At those prices I can afford to pay full-fare and cruise solo, for once...although I opened the extra slot up to my friends. I'll be magnanimous and cover their ENTIRE cruise fare...but THEY gotta pay the port fees and taxes. I'm not a charity. 😄 1
