Rare twototravel Posted November 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2021 We are booked on the Constellation for the Grand Puget Sound cruise in mid April. We should be getting the email soon to choose excursions. Anyone have recommendations of ones not to miss?
nybumpkin Posted December 9, 2021 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) We mostly did DIY tours on our Puget Sound cruise. However, the one port where I have "don't miss" recommendations is Port Angeles. We were there for two days; the main attraction is Victoria BC. That excursion didn't run since the border was closed due to Covid, but we were there before on an Alaska cruise. It's a beautiful city and I'd recommend it. Looking at the website, that appears to be the only excursion for one of the two days. Many folks on our cruise went to Hurricane Ridge, in the Olympic National Park, and they really enjoyed it. We were fortunate to have nice weather, so they had good views. We did the Lake Crescent Lodge tour - beautiful lake, and we enjoyed a drink from the lodge while enjoying the view. On the way back to Port Angeles, we stopped at Madison Falls, along the Elwha River. Very scenic. I see that one of your ports is Bremerton. While it wasn't a port on our cruise, we've been there twice, both times taking the ferry over from Seattle. We visited the USS Turner Joy museum- a destroyer that served in Vietnam. We really liked the visit - but then, we're Navy parents. Our son is Chief Engineer on a current Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. It was right up our alley. Rare twototravel Posted February 15, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted February 15, 2022 Just received the excursion selection list for our cruise departing 16 April. The new itinerary (sans Canada) mixed up the ports and lengths of stay. Here is what we signed up for: Tacoma - Beer Experience; Anacortes - Whale Watching; Friday Harbor - Whale Watching and Jolly Trolley; Port Angeles - Olympic National Park & Hurricane Ridge and Olympic Game Farm; Port Townsend - Walking Tour; Poulsbo - Walking Tour; and last day on ship shuttle into downtown Seattle for Pike Place Market time. This doesn't include all the complimentary excursions that are offered at each docking.
