ppantier Posted January 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2022 We are booked for the February 12th Eastern Caribbean sailing and have been hearing a lot of chatter regarding Covid impacts onboard. Wondering from those that have recently sailed or are currently on board what the experience is like. We are fully vaccinated and boosted so not worried about contracting Covid, more concerned that the vacation may not feel like a vacation. Any limitations on the number of people allowed at the pool, shows or casino? Have service levels been impacted? Final payment is due soon and so we will need to decide if we want to postpone this trip and sail in February 2023. Appreciate any information that can be provided.

Rosy Season Posted January 2, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2022 NYE on Harmony. You decide if they're following any kind of protocols and what you think the infection rate was like. BqQI7q4wvheZ2nDA.mp4 8

Someone posted a different view on Tik Tok and said this was right before a huge influx of covid cases on the ship. That much I don't know because we were locked away in Covid Row by this point. 4 2

You wouldn't say that if you or your child were in quarantine with covid for 3 out of the 7 days. And spare me the "you knew it was a pandemic". Yes we did. WE also expected RCCL to act responsibility and enforce their own rules. No wonder all of us caught covid...look at the behavior they allowed. 8 2
erinsmom03 Posted January 2, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 2, 2022 I just keep checking the news for any updates on Covid cases on the cruise ships. Crickets. I would really love to see some transparency, I want to know how many people were in quarantine, how many tested positive. How many crew members tested positive but were then removed from the ships. We chose to cancel our cruise (thankfully, since on top of everything else, our flight was cancelled). But part of the reason we cancelled was I do not think that the cruise lines are being transparent and honest in the reporting of how many people are testing positive on the ships. 5 1

It is horrible how they changed their policy for people with international flights! Those changes should only apply to people that booked AFTER they made that change.

SherriZ366 Posted January 2, 2022 #13 Share Posted January 2, 2022 I will have one left also unless I screw up the tests. I also have two non-proctored tests that I have had for a few months. These are impossible to find right now. Putting on packing list.

I was surprised.

I thought RCCL tested B2Bers before their second leg as a part of their protocols. For those who say they got on board without a test pre-boarding. Was that recently? We've been seeing need for proof of pre-boarding tests since end of September. And we know Carnival checked them on our post Thanksgiving cruise, Our Harmony of the Seas cruise in 2 weeks is requiring them.

Antigen tests are pretty worthless I'm learning.

Despite the rapid rate of Omicron infection, Delta, which is much more serious, is still around.

CPT Trips Posted January 2, 2022 #24 Share Posted January 2, 2022 Just a thought. Does one have an ethical obligation to immediately report a positive Covid test to the ship physician?
