NCL Spirit Sydney to Auckland 16th-24th January 2024

Hello From New Zealand

 

Pauline and I have made 3 attempts to do the TransTasman and all have been cancelled so are hoping that this on and the one before are going ahead.

 

Yes we are doing Auckland-Sydney-Auckland; same ports "but what the hell" that's cruising in the summer which is all that counts!!   It also means that there are two chances of getting into the Sounds.

 

I hope that you are not considering "doing" New Zealand and/or Australia via this cruise!!!   Come here for 3 weeks after the cruise and have 6 weeks in Australia before!!!   Even then you will only see a small part.

 

I am going to be unfaithful to NCL but if you want a taster of Australia take the Princess Round Australia cruise.   BUT, I have warned you, it only happens twice a year and fills out VERY quickly.   We have done it, beautiful.   On board were people who had done all or half for years and many who had booked for the following year when on board.

This got my interest since I am booked on the following Sydney-Auckland cruise.  What are the chances of getting into the sounds?  

 

Also, for the sake of accuracy I believe the dates in your title should be Jan 16th-Jan 28th.

At that time of year I think they are pretty good but the Tasman is a treacherous stretch of water at the best of times.

 

Thanks for the note about the date; I have asked the mods to correct it.   For those treading the thread the final date is Jan 28th 2024 if the title hasn't been corrected.

Ask the mods to transfer these posts to the "real" Roll Call.

 

And your post brings back such fond memories of our last cruise (hopefully only "last cruise before pandemic times"), from Auckland to Sydney, with several days in Sydney afterwards.  That was in Nov/Dec, 2019, and then...

But the trip was *wonderful*; we loved every minute, with some special highlights.

We hope to be back!
