Corona virus testing on the cruise

We are considering going on the Quest since our Journey cruise was canceled. How and when are they testing now? When we were on the Journey in October we were tested three times; prior to boarding, a few days in and before disembarkation.

 

Is that how it is still done, specifically asking about the Quest Caribbean cruises this winter?

 

Look forward to being on an Azamara ship again . . .

I was on Quest Holiday cruise, and testing was similar to your experience on Journey, but of course the end of cruise test was done only if necessary for your travels home. We were on a multination series of cruises, on Quest, from early October through the end of November. The bulk of testing was the rapid antigen test, done the day prior to our landing in a country that required testing to enter. Separate times were provided to each passenger (I don't remember if it was by room or by name), we lined up upstairs in the living room, a team of 3 or 4 nurses swabbed our noses, and off we went. Start to finish usually took 15 minutes. Results were texted to us later that day and hard copy followed. Again, it depended upon the country we went to. We were tested portside prior to the initial boarding, tested prior to entering Croatia, retested to get back into Italy, and so on. We were retested prior to our disembarking into St Thomas. The Canadians got PCR testing as per Canadian protocol for re-entry into Canada. All in all, it isn't something for you to worry about, UNLESS you test positive. Then all bets are off. Good luck.
