Maraprince Posted February 9, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2022 What are the approximate times for AM vs. PM cabin daily cleaning? We plan on a 2nd seating dinner and would prefer to have clean towels to use prior to going to dinner so we can shower?
audcc77 Posted February 9, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2022 Depends on your cabin steward. I told mine that I wanted evening turn down and that I go to dinner at 530-600. He said he works 6 to 9. There have been cruises where I want morning time, and they don’t show up until 1130. I never said anything but really wanted earlier cleaning. I’m sure they’ll try to accommodate you if you tell them your preferences when they introduce themselves.
crzndeb Posted February 9, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2022 It may be different now, but from past experience, the stewards started at one end of their assigned cabins in the morning, and the other end in the evening.
WildBlueYonder64 Posted February 9, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2022 We prefer morning service, and have always let our room steward know that we will be having coffee/breakfast from 9:30-11:30 or so, and would prefer to have our cabin serviced then. mondello Posted February 9, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2022 Most stewards want guests to be happy so, when they ask your preference, let them know what you prefer. We were on Sunshine 12/26 and had late MDR seating. Jamal did a great job, always had our cabin done while we were out and filled my little cooler with ice. He definitely wasn't one of those phantom stewards, we saw him in the hall often, just all around great guy.
Indytraveler83 Posted February 9, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2022 If clean towels is your biggest concern, just directly voice that. We usually ask for 2 sets of clean towels for this very reason and our steward is happy to provide. Given some requests that I've heard, extra towels is likely one of the easiest things then can do for you. 🙂
Schoifmom Posted February 9, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2022 We always ask for extra towels and are provided with them. On our last two cruises (since return), we were told what our steward's working hours were and asked if we prefered morning or evening service. bdever Posted February 9, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2022 (edited) I ask mine to come at 11-12 midday and he does. His name is Islah on Panorama, Havana cabins deck 5. Tell him Bethany sent you 🤗 Edited February 9, 2022 by bdever
JoeMo Posted February 10, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2022 (edited) We have been on 4 cruises since re-start, all Galveston. We have always met with our room dude before dinner first night out. We asked for a few things, (ie) bathrobe, distilled water, extra towels and a full ice bucket. I gave him a generic gift card, ($20) and he gave us his 24 hour phone number. They were great cruises .
