Oh man, Steve.  You just can't catch a break with MSC.

We know how messed up they can be but this has gone beyond ridiculous .

When you mention calling them......

that  seems to be when someone on their end can create a problem.

Keeping our fingers crossed for you in this matter. 😠:classic_sad:

Hi Pat,

Not happy and of course they are now closed. Paid in full last January 21,2021.

Actually existing reservations was working on the over payment.  It should be $5338.60 but I payed $6309.10 so they already owed me .

I called this morning and was told nothing that they could do. Need to send an email to the existing reservation department.

I have already called Amex to see my options in case I need to pay it to dispute it.

Like I have been saying POS cruise line.

Every single sailing has been a mess, nevermind the Salsa debacle which once I hit them at the end of March will probably get me a lifetime ban.😁

Just being told to email the "existing reservation department" makes me see red.  Without doubt the most worthless dept of all time.  I can quote almost verbatim the response "we will pass it to the supervisor/manager and they will get back in contact with you within 48 hours.........48 hours will pass no contact.  Then you are on a repeat cycle! Or should I say the ENDLESS repeat cycle!

I had a similar experience (but a much smaller balance)  three weeks ago in which I posted about. I’m still dealing with it. I did as you.. called, sent email and then called again. The fourth rep I spoke to finally put a ticket in to have looked into. I called again earlier this week as the balance is still there but per the 5th rep there is a notation for the balance to be reversed. MSC took away my 5+15 with no rhyme or reason. A glitch they said.
Good luck…

That department came through for me to correct a $3K price overcharge.

It's the inconsistency with MSC that makes people see red.

How long did it take?

They told me 10 business days but looking back at my emails, it was much quicker. I first contacted them on Friday, Feb.19, 2021 and received the (automatic?) reply a minute later....

Thank you for contacting MSC Cruises Reservation Department.
Resolving your issues and answering all your questions are our top priority.
We have received your email and will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you choosing MSC Cruises and have a great day!

Best Regards,

MSC Cruises Reservations Team

MSC Cruises (USA) Inc.

Everything was corrected on Monday, Feb. 22, 2021. I was VERY specific and included the original confirmation numbers, confirmation PDFs, screenshots, stateroom numbers, prices, deposit amounts, dates, ship names, experience, FCC amounts, etc. I had everything down to the penny as far as what I should have been charged and what I was later charged.

The only thing that they didn't do was move the deposit from one cruise to another. They had to refund the deposit for the cancelled cruise which took about a month to get back.

Much like your $5,338 cruise became a $8,123 cruise, mine also went up in price months after I booked. I was able to get the cruise for the correct price and in the correct stateroom. In addition to raising the price, they tried to move my stateroom, too.

I am in YC, and they had me in an inside, then on deck 16, then deck 18 where it has been for about 2 months and all of this happend because we could no longer sail out of Martinique, then out of Barbados, now finally St. Martin.

In the middle of all of this they even for a short time moved me from March to February, then back to March.

You can still cancel.

Then after FCC created, ask for refund instead per terms.

You are consistently unhappy…even with casino policy on your last sailing. So perhaps another line should get your biz instead

All the issues are screw ups on their part and I will be glad to be done with them.

With what I spend it is not a good business choice on their part.

FCC would not be created. I would need to move to another sailing. I am also YC so even a cancel would have came with a $500 penalty for the b2b.

Now I am 26 days away so no leeway now.

How they screw up a booking from 2020 that was paid in full last July is beyond me.

MSC has the Covid policy up to 48 hrs to cancel right?

so why not do that.

I believe FCC can be converted to credit

Look under FAQ…Ive seen it notated there

Hello my fellow beat down MSC friend. I swore after our xmas cruise I was done. Well had about 2400$ on a booked 4ni this week actually. Paid in full and most of it was acquired FCC. Called last month to move it to summer and they went in and there was a 400$ balance due. I about lost my mind. It was explained to me that those FCC had been refunded to my original FOP??? It never was. It’s gone. Emailed and got no response. I moved the remaining money to summer and probably eventually December when you can actually book something then. I really at this point don’t even want to spend time on them again. I let a YC 600$ mon refundable deposit go as well. It’s not worth it to me anymore.  a Diamond and been in YC 5 times. DONE.  Anyway sounds like you had happen whatever happened to me. These guys are crooked. After all that I’ve been through with them if it is negligence (I don’t think it is at this point I believe this is their MO), it’s such a level of gross negligence that just takes peoples money with zero accountability.

Back on NCL twice this year (gladly paying more for the Haven again), then onto Seabourne and Celeb in ‘23.

At some point when you’ve been through what pain they’ve put me through for 3-4 years you just have to cut bait for your own health.

All the best and I hope you’re able to power through this new debacle folks. Best of luck.

I have 9 cruises booked with NCL and Princess. Zero with MSC after this upcoming March b2b.

I have spoken with Amex a little while ago and they told me I have 2 options....

Cancel and they will attempt a chargeback going to 2020 or pay the extra money, cruise then dispute it as I have printed and photographic evidence that the cruise was paid and had a zero balance as of July of 2021.

Also have proof of zero balance a week ago then this new $1813.92 charge. Amex said I am not responsible for charges for goods or services that were not agreed upon nor explained in writing to me and the option to back out of the whole transaction.

I feel better after speaking to them.

Years ago when I took a cruise on Seaside 3 months after launch I had no problem with customer service,  My problems came from GS on the ship. I stated that they should fly a pirates flag and I was flamed. I certainly hope people are starting to wake up!

Here we go again...... Yesterday all was fine, despite my calling them that I have discovered an overpayment of almost $1000 due to FCC being applied.

Logged in today and here we go.

Call them it's a mistake from their system when they recategorized their cabins. This happened to me.

I called 3 times. Send an email, send another, ect. I don't know how they re-categorize a YC Deluxe.

I will just wait and see what happens next.

Just went through this with MSC.  Had an incorrect rate on our stateroom after upgrading to YC.  Even though we were paid in full, I couldn’t do Web checkin because it said we owed $2574 that we didn’t.  I received the whole send an email to existing reservations speech and I did send it to them and received no response days later.

I found out that the Contact Center (877 number) supervisors can do a rate change if it’s an emergency, which normally can only be done by the corporate office in Italy (which is why they only give you an email address as contact).
