It's been almost 6 years since we sailed with Celebrity, but we're back onboard this Saturday. WOO HOO

It's my understanding that boarding begins at 10 am, and our "window" is for 11:30-12. Generally, at what time can the cabins be accessed?

THANKS,

Tom

We were able to walk aboard around 1110 and were able to go directly to our suite.

Are you in a suite?  You may arrive any time.  Assigned times are for everyone not a Zenith nor Suite guest.

Regardless of your cabin class, everyone may access their cabin immediately after boarding and drop off carryons and put things in the safe.  Your SeaPass cards will be outside your cabin.  Your cabin may not be totally done yet by your steward but you can still leave your stuff there.

Yes, we're in a RS. I seem to recall being escorted to our suite in the past.

My experience on all the Revolutionized ships since resumption.   You are invited to go to your room regardless of suite or non-suite where you will retrieve your room key.

Officially they invite you to drop your things off and leave so room attendants can complete setting up the  rooms.   Most of the times our SS and above suites are ready but we go to lunch after dropping things off and putting valuables in safe.

We have also been escorted on board when cruising in a RS  or PH. Pre cruise the shoreside concierge usually will email you an A4 size sign to place in your cab so you can pull up and drop off your luggage at the ‘Special Delivery’ sign. At this point you will be escorted in to the next available check in person who will check your documents. As they are doing this an on board staff member will approach ready to escort you on the ship, either to your suite or the Retreat lounge.

The system does vary from port to port. Probably even more so during present circumstances. Efficient in our experience in Florida and Southampton, a bit more haphazard in Barcelona where the sign was a lady carrying a lollipop. Hence each time she took someone in to a desk there was no sign for several minutes.

We have only cruised from the UK since cruising reopened. There was no special delivery sign but we were immediately identified as PH guests and were fully escorted and on the ship in minutes.

We are in a royal suite on the Reflection in three weeks- While our shoreside concierge has already e-mailed us- and taken our information, she didn't give us the sign or mentioned it.  Wonder if things in Fort Lauderdale have changed.  I will contact her and ask.

After you hear back from her, let me know what you find out (I feel like I've already asked enough of her, LOL).

THANKS,

Interested also as I'm in the PH on the March 19 sailing. Could be a little too far away to discuss much with her, but would be interesting to hear if they are still doing this.

We are in the PH on Silhouette on March 7 and received an email from the shore side concierge on January 26 that went to my spam folder. One of the attachments was the parking placard for T25 but the port has us embarking from T18. Not sure if this is right or if they have a special delivery area at T18.

Last time we did this in Florida was on the Equinox September before covid struck. It really was so easy. We got in our cab and were about to explain to our driver that we needed to pull up at a special point, not the general unload area. He saw our sign and immediately said he knew where to go to. Just so easy, cab pulls over, suitcases taken, name checked and then escorted through…

Our cruise was from T25 so unsure about T18….Look after Silhouette for us, we have two future PH cruises on her, one each side! We definitely made the most of the speciality dining. So nice to have so many options! We also really liked the suite deck, so much better than the half job on Equinox.

I'm not up to speed on all the dry dock enhancements, but I take it from you that if we're looking for a revolutionized experience on an S class ship, the Silhouette is the way to go?

We sailed in a sky suite on the APEX on Feb. 12, 2022.  We were moving from a RS on the Reflection and so arrived early on a transfer.  No one was allowed into the terminal (25) until 11:00.  There was already a group in the suite line and a little delay because the only way to the suite lounge was via one elevator.  We were quickly checked in sitting down in the lounge area and there was only a short wait to board.  We were able to drop off our carry on bags directly to the room where we picked up our ship cards.

As to the Reflection we were at T29 and arrived around 2:00 (cancelled flights overnight) so no lines.  The suite area was not clearly marked and behind a curtain.  We were checked in in the main area and a clerk alerted someone in the suite area and we were escorted aboard.  The horror story was the complimentary transfer between the Reflection and the Apex.  We were escorted ( pushed) off the ship around 9:00 and it was a mob scene outside.  There were no buses for the paid for Airport Transfers.  There were over 100 people waiting for buses, some had waited over an hour when we arrived and we had to wait another hour along with them and a couple transferring to an RCCL ship.  I realize that the transportation is contracted but Celebrity really paints a rosy picture that makes you think your will have a small shuttle direct transfer because you are in a suite.  NO SO.  You are on the last big bus after all the airport people have been taken away.  There is no place to sit.  I saw later on a sign that a taxi between piers was $8.  I wish we had done that.  Our luggage was grabbed up and we didn't get a chance to take it to the suite luggage area.  I know we would have had to wait for the Apex terminal to open in any case but Celebrity Transfers are run by a very poor disorganized company.  The transfer we took to the Miami airport after the Apex was also a disaster.  Not the good use of on board credit we expected it to be.  We waited forever for a bus.  Just saying inspite of the fact no one asked.

I believe that the sign for Fort Lauderdale only is used for Terminal 25, which is a very large terminal.

When we recently were on Reflection, we sailed from Terminal 29 and had no sign.  There was just one luggage dropoff, as far as we could tell.  It was away from the entrance but a short walk.  They identified us as Retreat at the entrance, and it all went quickly and smoothly from there!

Yes, it is now definitely our favourite S class ship! Equinox had a part refit and the other S class ships are yet to go into dry dock so rooms have not been refurbished and they still have Michael’s Club rather than Retreat Lounge and no suite deck.

The suite deck is over two floors and has a hot tub (so missing on Equinox). It also has a bar and comfortable places to sit to eat and ample sun beds. We cruised on her from the UK last September (staycation cruise) so didn’t really notice if there was enough shade, it wasn’t hot enough!

Our room had been tastefully refurbished and had comfortable balcony furnishings.

The Retreat Lounge was similar to Equinox but they had obviously listened to complaints and the ridiculously tiny chairs and tables with rock hard corners were not present on Silhouette. The sunset deck at the back has been extended to the side grassy areas. Great improvement.

Luminae, no change, same as other S class venues.

We did love the included speciality dining. The addition of the Lawn Grill and The Porch just adds to the variety. It was nice at lunch to pop into The Porch and just have a light snack with sangria. Much as we are not big Lawn Grill fans we did enjoy mid cruise having a meal there as we left Liverpool.

We have found it much better to use a taxi rather than a shuttle.  With shuttles you wait for the bus to fill up and then wait for your luggage to come off the bus.

I just (2/26) embarked on the Reflection in a Sky Suite and when we arrived at our cabin around 11:50am the room was totally ready to be occupied. Going through the paperwork in our cabin I saw this new entry about cabin availability which WAS NOT a listed benefit when we sailed in Retreat Class on the Apex in December. I wonder if this is a new and current fleet wide benefit for Retreat Class?

We boarded just in time to enjoy a Luminae Burger (perhaps 10 minutes before 2). Tasty, BTW. 👍

So, needless to say, our room was ready as well! 😁
