Good morning and thanks for the Daily Report.

I like cheesesteak but not very often.  I'm not a fan of raisins, but love chocolate.  Is wine a cocktail?

Amusing quote.

The dinner suggestion sounds good, looking forward to seeing the recipe.  I'm sure the drink and wine will be good too.

Never been to today's port, I think it was a scheduled port on a cruise that was cancelled in 2020.  Hope we get there someday.

@Rowsby Hugs and prayers for you.

Prayers for our world.

Stay safe.

Good morning everyone and to early riser @Rowsby .  I hope your husband gets better soon.  Thanks for the daily report, it’s nice to read on a cold, rainy dreary morning.  I like all three days although I haven’t had a delicious cheesesteak in a long time.  Not everyone likes chocolate covered raisins but I do.  Funny quote by Woody Allen, I think my mom feels that way. The meal suggestion and drink both sound very tasty.  Looking forward to seeing the photos from today’s port.  Prayers for everyone on today’s list.  Happy __________ to everyone celebrating something special 🍻.

Thank you for the Thursday Daily, Rich.  I hope @JazzyV escaped with no severe weather.  I think it's contrarian day for me as I don't drink, prefer my chocolate and raisins separately, and will pass on both the cheesesteak and chicken pita salad.  I've been to Mallorca twice but not since 2010.  I do like the Woody Allen quote.  My alternative menu suggestion is  Honey Pineapple, Rack of Lamb, and Black Forest Cake as served on MS Zaandam March 24, 2017:

Good morning from Aruba! We did a food tour last night in Curacao that consisted of dining at three restaurants. Main meal was as close to waterfront as you can get highlighted by a beautiful sunset behind the ship.

Maybe get out and walk around today with possible lunch.

Thanks to all. Time for breakfast.

Thank you for today’s Daily, Rich! Rain hasn’t started here yet. Still not sure how much rain  & how severe our storms will be. The radar shows the major band to the North and West of me. My onshore breezes seemed to help keep it to the West!

Thank you for our lists, Roy! Morning Dailyite family! It appears “Son of Omicron” is gaining ground here, so everyone be careful! Scientists still trying to identify different symptoms.

We could all use a smile these days….

2019 St. Amant "Mohr-Fry Ranch - Old Vine" Lodi Zinfandel
This wine is a bit elusive, but has excellent ratings and a reasonable price. I need to taste most Zins before having a glass or bottle, but I enjoy a good one. A few online distributors with prices starting at $16.95.

93 points Wine Enthusiast

Silky and elegant but fullbodied, this wine gently carries concentrated, rich black and red fruits on an ultrasmooth texture. Fine-grained tannins add some grip on the palate without interrupting the enticing flow of this luscious wine. *Editors’ Choice*

It is late morning here, sunny and 63°F.

Thank you Rich for giving us the opportunity to post on your wonderful daily thread.

Thank you Roy for supplying valuable lists every day.

Great days today.

I have been fortunate to sell chocolate including chocolate raisins for various companies for 36 years.

When in Orlando I get a Philisteak omelette every day for breakfast in Denny's and the cheese steak looks delicious.

Pauline likes a Pina Colada at least once on a cruise.

Interesting food and drink.

Palma Majorca is a port we have visited on numerous occasions.

The Cathedral is a marvelous landmark when sailing in or out.

Prayers for everyone on the care list.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Take care.

Graham

Adding you  & your DH to my prayers.

Have you tried the breathing technique that @AncientWanderershared a couple of days ago? Not always easy to do, but clearing the mind of worry, stress and anxiety often helps.  I will try to find the post and share it.

Sal, you mentioned a couple days ago that you're having panic attacks.  I've had them since having health problems of my own and this 4-7-8 breathing technique works for me.  Good luck.  They are scary.

This is the technique. Sadly I could not figure out how to edit my quote into my prior post. 😞

Good morning, everyone.

I'll take all three days today.  Chocolate covered raisins aren't high on my list, but I will take them for the sake of celebration and chocolate.  @Rowsby talk to your doctor about the sleep issues.  You need to be in good shape to be of any help to your DH.

My phone visit to go over the MRI results never happened.  I sat here by the phone and waited and when it was 20 minutes past the appointment time, I sent a message through My Chart.  I was informed that I had been a no show and would have to reschedule.  Interestingly, the notation about being a no show was made at 6:27 am.  My phone appointment was for 9:00 am.  I was not the no show.  They were.  I finally talked to someone in the office (that is a major feat these days).  I kind of let them have it.  Fortunately, the findings on the MRI that require action are being handled by my PCP and she has gotten me an appointment with the specialist I need to see.

Today's meal looks quite tasty.   This should satisfy the carnivores in the group.  I suppose if you have vegetarians to cook for, you could substitute some tofu or perhaps Morningstar Farms has a chicken substitute.  On this first one I would just leave out the pita bread, or only use half the amount, to keep the carb count in line.   https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/chicken-pita-salad/

1360826354_ChickenPitaSalad1.jpg.ef23015227c9f3c40b152bff375a8d8b.jpg

This next one looks pretty good to me.  I would love the grilled chicken and the lime flavor.  I'd leave out the pita chips for carb control and dig in!  https://www.sunset.com/recipe/grilled-chicken-pita-salad

1406976093_ChickenPitaSalad2.jpg.0ed93278229616700d1f695c5f868090.jpg

This next one makes a somewhat traditional chicken salad and stuffs it in a pita.  It looks good and might make for a nice diversion.  For those of us watching carbs, we could wrap the chicken salad in lettuce leaves.  Boston Bibb works well for this.    https://www.nourishnutritionblog.com/easiest-chicken-salad/

1726026499_ChickenPitaSalad3.thumb.jpg.f4397bc469a338b0f0e17c07aebc5cb6.jpg

Prayers for all who need them, especially Ukraine and our Daily family members:  @kazu Jose and Marley, @smitty34877 Tana, @Cruzin Terri, @marshhawk, @Rowsby DH, @HAL Sailer DH

@StLouisCruisers Jen and Buddy,   I hope I didn't leave anyone out.   @St. Louis SalYou are out of line because CC wouldn't let me continue past your name until I wrote something before your name.   Gremlins at work.    Wishing everyone a wonderful day.   I am celebrating having a PCP on the ball.

Good morning. It is cold and rainy here with a bit of wind to make it chilly.I am quite similar to Roy as I no longer have real cocktails and like raisins and chocolate  to be separate. I will consult with the Chef about the recipe.

We have not been to the port and look forward  to pictures.

@Rowsby,I am sorry to hear of your DH's hospitalization. I can relate to the wide awake at 2 or 3 all too well.I will be thinking of you both.

We have an awful lot of covid cases around here again.Sigh.I heard a statistic yesterday that thirty percent of the country are unvaccinated. It is hard to maintain even a small level of optimism. Sorry, rant over.

I discovered my new "favorite cocktail on the Zuiderdam in February.  An Aperol Spritz:

  • 1 part Aperol
  • 1 part dry Prosecco
  • Splash of club soda
  • Orange slice, for garnish
  • Serve over ice

Good morning friends!  We walked to the gym this morning and back so have checked that off our list.  It should be a decent day in the mid 60's.  Thank you Rich @richwmnfor presenting our Daily this morning.  Lots of good information on there.  Also thanks to Roy @rafinmdfor our Care and Celebration lists.  I'm happy to see all the people with happy things to celebrate.  I wish our Care list was smaller!  I prayed for all listed on the list as well as Buddy and Jen, and especially the people suffering in Ukraine, those taking them in, and everyone helping in any way to stop this madman.  Extra hugs and prayers to Sue @Rowsbyand her DH.  Hoping you can start sleeping better Sue!  Special prayers for Jose, Jacqui @kazu, Marley, Tana, @smitty34877Terry and family, @1ANGELCATand her kitty Socks who passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Good luck today @Cruzin Terri.   If I've forgotten anyone just know all are in my prayers daily.

The menu suggestion sounds okay to me and I thought the second recipe looked appetizing Debbie @dfish.  Thanks for posting it and I hope you can get your test results explained to you soon.  I like a good cocktail here and there.  Chocolate covered raisins are good with me, too.  Cheesesteaks are something I haven't eaten but it sounds good.  The quote is unique.  No thanks to the drink or the wine.

Palma de Mallorca is a port I really enjoyed.  It was listed here Dec. 29 and here is what I posted then.

On August 9, 2017 the Westerdam stopped in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on the island of Mallorca located in the Mediterranean Sea.  Three weeks in the Med enjoying all the beauty of the ports there, however it was very hot in many of the stops.  The price you have to pay!

I went on a ship's tour and enjoyed it very much.  One of the favorites on the tour was the Palma Cathedral.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVLCKtz2uWts2O9KoHVrOF0m?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503938396

On the left side you see the Almudaina Palace with the arched verandah openings.  It is where the King and Queen of Spain reside while in Palma de Mallorca.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL17FElFWXXuN0ZC575euVi?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503938128

Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich

Interesting collection of days - all focused on our mouths 😉  I’ll celebrate the cheesesteak & cocktail day and pass on the chocolate covered raisins. 😉

Love the Woody Allen quote and have to say I agree with him 🙂

I have pitas and just cooked chicken for Marley’s pills so a chicken pita salad might do the trick tonight and goes so well with today’s wine selection 👍

400B4D4D-F7B0-4188-AF05-147395AC4278.jpeg.6fdaadaf2c511cbaa0d272453db25158.jpeg

Loved Palma de Mallorca and would be happy to return but honestly, I don’t think there hasn’t been a place in Spain I haven’t enjoyed 😉

Sorry I haven’t posted - just too “busy” between travelling, sitting with DH, Marley and trying to accomplish things.  I don’t seem to get as much accomplished as I used to somehow.

46D17783-12B5-430B-B4C5-3A6D4AE9D1AC.thumb.jpeg.126514dbaa570f4b3316814e4dedd2b2.jpeg

I had verbal instructions for Marley but this morning  the vet (whom I like) who does home visits is coming to check him out.  She has given me a lot of good input on his cancer so hopefully, she can help. The fear is bone tumours with his cancer but we will see.

I can’t be in 2 places at once so no hospital visit today.  Normally that would be fine as I need a break but we have a huge ice/freezing rain warning for tonight and tomorrow and if my driveway needs to be de-iced I might have to miss another day.  Most likely my hospital road will be deadly.  Oh well, wait and see I guess.

@RowsbyI am so sorry to hear about your husband.  So sad and so difficult for you 😞 I understand the difficulty in sleeping, believe me.  Something that may help is melatonin.  It’s natural and non addictive.  I know you have heard this from many people already (believe me I have) but you need to take care of yourself so you have the strength to help your DH.  it’s easier than it sounds, I know, but please try ♥️

@Cruzin Terrivery best wishes for today!

At long last, Jose is confirmed on the wait list for a home. Talking to the ones I chose, the wait list is so long that unless they were your #1 pick, they don’t even look at the remaining list.  I did find out my #1 pick had a shorter wait list than my #2,  Nothing to get excited about since it’s a long one too.  I’ll wait a few weeks and start attempting to get him bumped.

Prayers for everyone on the Care list, Ukraine and all those that need them & 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Have a good Thursday, everyone !!!!!

Good Morning Dailyites!  I am so glad that all of you are  in my life.  I am tired all the time, depressed these days 80% of the time, and frustrated with the world 99% of the time.  But when I am here, I am content.

@Rowsby I am sorry about your sleeping pattern being disrupted by life.  I know it's weird when the one you love is not there, makes the hours seem empty.  BUT get rest, because you need to be there for the long haul and you cant be, when you are tired and worn out.

DH is calling doctors to find out what is going on in his mouth, he's seen two oral surgeons who both sent him back to his oncologist, but that appointment is not til after his MRI,  and he is in a lot of pain, and wants answers now! So he has another appointment on the 4th of April for an ENT, right before seeing his  radiologist (who I told him to call yesterday).  And then one of my friends  called yesterday to brag about being in Vegas in her time share, told me about something that she had found that might help, so I am going to try to find it this morning.  Cant make it worse than it is now, the inside of his mouth looks like tiny bumps and bubbles near where previous surgery had been.

Well, I did it again, for the days, I read cheesecake not cheesesteak... I love both.  I like chocolate covered raisins, but not in movie theatres.  I don't like eating in the dark.. I want to see my food, just in case it starts moving...

I am having trouble sleeping....waking up at 2:30 - 3:00 am every single day....

My husband is sick and has been in the hospital....this is day 11...he is being well cared for and evaluated....everything from skilled/rehab.......to hospice....

While I am waiting for the hospital to open at 5:00 am....and even tho I'm sitting on the west coast....I often beat Rich's first post of The Daily......just wanted to let everyone know how much I appreciate the comments, memes, photos....and following along each day....!!

Sorry to hear you are not sleeping well which is understandable when your husband is in hospital.

Sending you our heartfelt prayers 🙏 and best wishes that your husband is okay soon and you can enjoy time together again.

Love from us both🤗❤️
