Cruise Suzy Posted March 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2022 We've been to Aruba before and taken the "introductory" tours. One place we've not been is the Butterfly Farm. Our cruise does offer a 3-hour tour that includes it along with Ayo Rock and Natural Bridge. It also passes the Gold Mill Ruins. We probably want to spend more time at Butterfly Farm than the tour allows. How much time would be the minimum to spend there to fully enjoy it? Are there vendors at the port that might offer transportation to/from the Butterfly Farm? There doesn't seem to be a public bus stop near there. An hour tops would be more than enough time at the Butterfly Farm. We went there on a cruise line tour similar to yours. I'm sure you could take a taxi from the cruise terminal. it's only about a 10 minute drive.
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2022 It is not very big but the guide at the Butterfly farm gives you this speech about everything and shows you around, telling you interesting facts, then you explore on your own. I agree, about an hour or so is more than enough. Here's some pictures and a review of our time there if you're interested HERE
Cruise Suzy Posted March 25, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted March 25, 2022 Thanks for your replies. Will see if I can find out how long the ship's tour is there.
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted May 4, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2022 We took a taxi to the Butterfly farm and did a "tour" on our own (meaning not with the ship). Took about an hour. Then we went to the beach across the street - free. Took a taxi back after several hours.

I am now looking through this board to see if anything has changed since then in terms of access and cost.
