I understand that platinum cruisers no longer get priority boarding. What's more important, do we get priority debarkation? Have they done away with platinum perks?

You don’t get priority boarding but you do get to pick your arrival time two days before everyone else. If you get the earliest time you’ll be one of the first to board. Three weeks ago on glory I was in the first group.

Except so far, no port I have been at checks arrival appointments,  just show up and walk in (Seattle and Canaveral)

You get sort of priority boarding. You can check in 48 hours earlier as a Diamond/platinum member, to secure an early check in time. For debarkation, you will get a low luggage tag number. The perks are still there but you must go to specific areas of the ship or call to receive them. Example, call Cherry on Top to get your choc covered strawberries.

But you get a boarding zone that I assume is based on your arrival time and status. I was zone A1 on Glory so I was in the first group. The worst I’ve been since the restart was A6 on one of the first Mardi Gras cruises which had me boarding within the first 15 minutes.

I do wonder what happens if someone who has an arrival appointment of say 1:30 gets there at 10:30. I assume their later boarding zone makes up the difference.

I think that's what it is. The later arrival time gives them a later boarding zone. They have checked boarding zones at the four ports I've been to since the restart.  I've been in every terminal before they started boarding so I've been among the first to board. The only people boarding before me were people with an earlier boarding zone.

AND Platinums get to go to their rooms earlier than 1:30, yes?
We did on our first Platinum cruise in Dec. ‘21!

They don't currently guarantee your room will be ready, like it the past, but you can at least drop your bags.

Hi,

We boarded the Panorama yesterday, literally made Platinum on this cruise.

OP, all the points cellfree listed is exactly the same experience we’ve had.

I’d  just add ..

Free Liter of bottled water at Java Cafe

Free sweet treat.  I’ll ask Guest Services where to order.

If you go to Carnival web site, you view the List of Platinum Perks.

When we boarded the Panorama on Saturday, the “ Priority” folks AND the Suites Guests we’re called 1st to board.  Then A01 followed by A02 ( which was our Group). So, I don’t know who goes after A02 boarded.

I picked 10:30 - 11:00am as our check in time. But …NOBODY boarded the Panorama until after11:30am.  Our luggage arrived outside our door a bit after 3:15pm.

Sounds pretty similar to October except back then the earliest check-in time was noon. But they opened the doors at 10:30. I was checked in at 10:45. They started boarding at 11:37. I was on the ship at 11:48.

Its been pretty standard. Between Mardi Gras, Panorama, Vista, and Glory I’ve boarded between  11:25 and 11:50.

So far it has been my experience that no matter what your arrival time is, once they start boarding, you just get in line.  At Port Canaveral, I had a 10:30 am arrival appointment with A1 boarding group. No one checked times so those in front of me with 12 noon, 1:30 pm, etc were processed immediately.  Took over an hour to check in because of the long line and I could hear Boarding Group after Boarding Group called.  When I got inside, there was no one sitting and waiting to be called.  Me and everyone in line with me just keep walking to the gangway, no one checked, no one looked.

If your room is ready it makes absolutely no difference.

Because rooms may or may not be ready.  Plats/Diamonds decide to just put away a few items and stay for however long.  Fun Shop deliveries aren't always finished and they were trying to keep crew out of staterooms when guests are present.

Same for us on the Glory in December.  Were on the ship very quickly, even considering the extra COVID docs we have to show now.  We were expecting it to take much longer.  We were pleasantly surprised - NOLA terminal staff were wonderful! 😀

Our water delivery from fun shop on our January cruise wasn't until 3 anyway, so that really makes no difference.

I guess if you're just going to lay down in your room fine, but if you're going to be messing around in the stateroom corridors before 1:30 you might as well go up to Lido so they can get done what they need to do without worrying about guests in the halls.

I didn't get my $25.  I asked several people, including the casino host and did not get it.

Well that’s strange. We both got it on last four cruises. Are you Platinum? At the Casino Cashier they have always had a list of Platinum guests and they look up your name and then you have to sign for the $25.
