x lindsay x Posted March 28, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Can anyone who has sailed with an unvaccinated child under 5 in the last month let me know how excursions are going these days since Bubble Tours are gone? Specifically, do you have to show proof of a tour when getting off the ship, since most tours meet on the pier or in the port area? Can you get off before your tour time to enjoy the port before the tour like you are allowed to do post tour? It was pretty cut and dry when you had a Bubble Tour that you would meet in a lounge and be escorted off the ship, but since most normal tours don't meet that way what are the procedures? dreaminofcruisin Posted March 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Just off the Horizon yesterday. We had an unvaccinated 2 year old with us. We did book 2 excursions that she would be able to go along with us. Other than that, our group of 7 did some 'tag-teaming' taking turns at ports. She went on the Glass Bottom boat tour in Bonaire and the PlayaBachata All Inclusive Resort Pass in Amber Cove. With children, a parent always goes first and scans their card. Then they present the child's card. In her case, it made a nasty beep and they asked her mom if she had an excursion that day. She then had to show her tickets for the excursion. The 2nd time they just looked at her (most people can identify a 2 year old is under 5) and asked for the tickets before they even scanned the card. In Bonaire, the boat was right at the pier, so right there. In Amber Cove, we met on the pier. No distinction for her as being unvaccinated in either case. We did not shop in either port, but we would have been able to if we wanted to. Hope that helps.
