Rare mamiamjo Posted April 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Both my wife and I have been bombarded with email offers from Carnival lately, sometimes two or three for each of us in the same day. What I have noticed was that my wife for some reason gets different offers than the ones I get and was wondering why that might be. We both have the exact same cruise history and have only been on cruises together, in the same cabin, so I am not sure why we would get different offers. Any ideas? TeresaJ Posted April 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2022 My husband and I also get different offers and we have been on the same amount of cruises. No rhyme or reason, I guess.
hurricane0226 Posted April 14, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Wife and I also get different offers, but ours our due to the casino plays we do, I like to play table games, and crap table, she is mostly slots, so we figure that is the difference in the offers. Elaine5715 Posted April 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2022 Your offers are also filtered thru databases that the Casino department purchases including land casinos
Moviela Posted April 14, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2022 The offers also take gender into account.
JillK Posted April 14, 2022 #6 Share Posted April 14, 2022 At least you are both getting offers. We have the same situation as you: same amount of days cruise/same cruise history... we are not gamblers so this isn't casino offers, just past guest rates. For reasons I can't understand my husband gets fantastic VIFP offers and I get none. When I price, I get the same prevailing rate as someone who has never sailed with Carnival. Pretty frustrating for us at the moment as we need to book two staterooms but can only access preferential pricing for his cabin. Given that I think we should both be able to access VIFP rates, I'm finding it hard to justify spending $400 more for two people in an inside cabin than his rate gets for three people in a balcony. If only Carnival knew I was the one who makes all of our family's travel plans they might want to extend past guest deals to me!

Brandiwine1977 Posted April 14, 2022 #8 Share Posted April 14, 2022 I have cruise more than the hubs, and neither play in the casino. I think we spent $10-20 in there one time. Dang if he didn't get a casino offer, lol We certainly take advantage of it. But there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.
Djptcp Posted April 14, 2022 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2022 DH and I often receive the same casino offers but we take mine because they are always better. I receive better discounted rates and more Fun Play - I play in the casino more than he does and spend more money there than he does, so I rack up thousands more points than he does on our cruises. Moviela, what does gender have to do with anything?

Moviela, what does gender have to do with anything? Gender plays a part in data mining same as age, income, geographical location, number of credit cards, marital status, ... every part of your spending habits, key strokes, memberships...all for sale. The wizards sort it out and put together a targeted audience.

Try switching that around We have only sailed the two of us with Carnival (so only one cabin, as opposed to needing two when we cruise with the kiddos). I have always been the primary passenger and always used my credit card. Again, it's just perplexing!

CheckersMidwest Posted April 18, 2022 #14 Share Posted April 18, 2022 We almost always have different offers. This past cruise, I had a great casino rate offer that he did not. So booked in my name. Sometimes he has the casino offer & we book his rate. (The casino offers are hard to beat!)
