casofilia Posted April 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2022 On January 7th 2022 NCL issued an UPDATED set of Latitudes Rewards Programme > Benefits Terms And Conditions These are available at https://www.ncl.com/nz/en/latitudes-rewards-program/benefits-terms-and-conditions. These now become the actual T&Cs for all material described in them and supplant any earlier set of T&Cs and any earlier supplementary details that do NOT appear within them. These are the T&Cs that still appear on the NCL website. ------------------------------------------------------------ The second set of T&Cs in the above document are under "Shore Excursion Discounts – Silver, Gold, Platinum, Sapphire, Diamond & Ambassador" and state:- The amount of the shore excursion discount is determined by the Latitudes tier level of the guest booking the excursion: 10% for Silver, Gold and Platinum members, 15% for Sapphire and Diamond members, and 20% for Ambassador members. Discounts are eligible for pre-paid and/or pre-booked excursions. If a guest pre-books a shore excursion before embarking on the cruise, the applicable discount will be applied on board. If a guest pre-pays for a shore excursion before embarking on the cruise, the applicable discount will be applied at the time of booking/payment. Discounts are not reflected in the shopping section of My NCL on ncl.com. You will see the discount in the shopping cart upon check out. The discount is only combinable with Norwegian's Free at Sea promotion. It is not combinable with any other promotion or discounts. If a Free at Sea shore excursion credit is on the reservation, the Free at Sea credit is to be taken off the total bill first and then the Latitudes shore excursion discount is applied. The shore excursion discount benefit has no monetary value and is non-refundable. We encourage guests to pre-pay/pre-book excursions as our most popular tours sell out quickly. However, guests can book excursions once on board. Each guest on the reservation must identify themselves as a Latitudes Rewards member and present their keycard in person to shore excursion staff at time of booking to receive the discount. The discount must be commensurate with each individual guests Latitudes Rewards tier level. Please note that Latitudes discounts for shore excursions will not be applied post cruise. ----------------------------------------------------------- You will notice two matters that intrigued me: - 1) There is NO statement in there that Shore Excursions have to be paid at the time of booking. 2) There is a very specific statement “Discounts are eligible for pre-paid and/or pre-booked excursions” which clearly indicates that there are TWO ways of arranging shore excursions before boarding; pre-paid and pre-booked. The paragraph following the one I quoted in 2) uses the same terminology. ---------------------------------------------------------------- In the past 3 months I have sent a number of emails to both Ms Byrd and Mr Sommer asking that the information in the actual, legal, Terms and Conditions be adhered to and that NCL accepts PRE_BOOKING of shore excursions without payment. Neither has even responded to those emails. All the best Mike

casofilia Posted April 15, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted April 15, 2022 @shof515 Until about 2 years ago it was normal for me to be able to book Shorex and pay for them when on board. However that changed with a statement on 4th February 2020 that shore excursions had to be paid for at the time of booking. BUT and it is a very big BUT that statement does NOT appear in the latest T&Cs which are what NCL must abide by. It is VERY disturbing that no one proof read critically the NEW T&Cs to see that the 4th February 2020 statement was missing and even more so that the NEW T&Cs have still not been updated end even more so that NCL will NOT adhere to the T&Cs it promulgated on the 7th January 2022.
