bjkeen Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 Thanks for sharing your cruise. Did you have a balcony? I think balconies are a wonderful addition to the ships. Was there anything about the Miracle that sets it apart from the other Carnival ships? Snowball Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 The Miracle Party Cruisers are back on dry land. I had a great time and loved the ship, the staff, the food, and just about everything else about the cruise. I also really enjoyed meeting all of the cruise critic people I saw onboard. This was definitely my best cruise so far, and my family is already trying to decide what cruise to plan for next year. I'm not sure that I have to energy (or memory ) to write a full review, but I will be happy to try to answer any questions that you may have. Debbie Click here for the 10/22/04 Legend CTN roll call! Snowball Posted May 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I booked cabin 7258, which is a category 8G with an extended balcony, plus the balcony for that room is the length of 3 cabins (check out the deck plans). I think the ship was beautiful, the food was good, but what really made this cruise stand out to me was the wonderful entertainment staff. Todd Wittmer was the cd, and we also had Texas Tom and Karl with a "K" taking a big role in various functions. They were hilarious, and made the cruise that much more enjoyable for me. Also they have several really good shows at night, and the musical group "Music Unlimited" are not to be missed - they are a live band that does songs from all different eras. Snowball Posted May 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We did not dine at Nick & Nora's, but a couple of other people from our group did - hopefully they'll see this and give you a review. bar10der421 Posted May 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I second Debbie's comments about the entertainment staff on the Miracle. I never thought CD's mattered and could not tell you who they were on my previous cruises, but I will never forget Todd, Tex and Karl. They really seemed to enjoy working together and were great fun. Debbie: Did you see the Dirty Dancing skit with Todd and Tex at the 70's & 80's deck party? It was hilarious!! 5/2 Miracle cruise

Snowball Posted May 17, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I also saw the Dirty Dancing skit on the lido deck - how funny was that!?!?!? He also had a really funny skit at the end of the talent show. Those guys definitely made the cruise so much fun! As Rocker said, this definitely was a "fun ship" - the bars were hopping until the wee hours every night, the shows were great, and the adult comedy shows were hilarious. The casino could have been nicer to me though - it kept taking my money every time. Kimberly - cabin 7258 holds 2 people, but the same cabin one deck down holds 4 people and has the same size balcony. Debbie Click here for the 10/22/04 Legend CTN roll call! Di's going to cruise again Posted May 17, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2004 Hi, I was on the Miracle last week with those party cruisers - but I only met one that posts here. Hi, Snowball! I did dine at Nick and Nora's. I was impressed and would recommend this restaurant. It is fine dining; the atmosphere more like a 6-star restaurant, the food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. After we ordered, the waitress brought us 'taste' appetizers - a smoked fish and chilled asparagus soup. These were small samples but very tasty. My appetizer was escargot - tender and delicious. My soup was Lobster Bisque and it was much better than the Lobster Bisque served in the Bachus Dining Room. Salad was next - the bleue cheese dressing out of this world. I ordered a 9 ounce filet - it was cooked to perfection and as tender could be. My sides were mashed potatoes with wasabi horseradish (they eliminated the wasabi for me!) and a fresh steamed vegetable medley. I ate every morsel - it was wonderful. I ordered a mousse sampler for desert - chocolate, white chocolate, coffee, and two other flavors that I can't remember right now. After desert, the waitress brought us another tray of deserts - about 6 different full-size deserts for the three of us. We 'rolled' out three hours after we started eating. The cost per person is $25.00. We also ordered a bottle of wine and left a gratuity. I think the total cost for the three of us was under $150.00 for a meal that would have cost over $300.00 on land. If you are going to cruise with children, consider the amount of time you will spend here. Our meal was just under 3 hours long. This is a long time for a child. I can answer any additional questions if you have any. Snowball Posted May 17, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 17, 2004 Janlen - here is a link to the best Miracle slideshow I've seen. Mindymiss - Embarkation wasn't too bad. We arrived at the terminal around 12-12:30 and it took about an hour until we were onboard the ship. cyndepet - Since we left Baltimore late on embarkation day, I did not see us going past the bridge on the way down. I just happened to be in the lido restaurant when we went past on the way back and it was incredible! You don't actually go under the bridge - you go over one of the bridge's tunnel areas, so as you go past you can see the cars going down from the bridge into the tunnel. The only bad thing was that I didn't have my camera with me, and we went through pretty fast - within minutes the bridge was just some lights off in the distance. Di - It was nice meeting you, and I'm glad that you enjoyed Nick & Nora's. Debbie Click here for the 10/22/04 Legend CTN roll call! serene56 Posted May 17, 2004 #18 Share Posted May 17, 2004 WALLY gATOR: Welcome to the boards to another philadelphian. You will have plenty of room in your cabin with 3 in there. The 3rd bed will be tucked away during the day and when you are out to dinner will be turned down for the night. When at breakfast in the morning the cabin steward will be setting your cabin for the daytime. Snowball: is the miracle as red as the pictures indicate or is it better? Snowball Posted May 17, 2004 #19 Share Posted May 17, 2004 Wally - a category 8 quad has 2 beds that can be pushed together to form a king, a sofa bed, and a bunk bed that comes down from the ceiling and is over the sofa bed. Having the 3rd & 4th beds do not take up any additional floor space. I would think that the bigger problem is having 4 people sharing 1 bathroom. Enjoy your cruise! Salty Dawg - Our itinerary did not include Costa Maya - it was Key West, Nassau, and Freeport. Cheryl - I didn't think that the red was very noticable at all, except in the Mad Hatter's Ball, which was one of my favorite rooms on the ship. Horatio's was incredibly nice for a casual restaurant, the Phantom Lounge was nice, and Maguire's sports bar showed all of the Flyers games. I did not like the pink skittles all over the Bacchus dining room, but it certainly did not diminish my dining pleasure. Our wait team, Malina and Adrienn, were great and we had a lot of fun with them all week. Our cabin steward Adrian was also very good, and all of the new cruisers loved their little towel animals they received every night. Actually, every staff member we came in contact with was very pleasant - either saying hello, good morning, or just smiling in greeting as we passed. Snowball Posted May 17, 2004 #22 Share Posted May 17, 2004 My table in the dining room was 307 - it was on deck 3, which is the 2nd level of the Bacchus dining room. The Miracle only has one dining room - not two like on the Destiny and Conquest class ships. I don't think that my table # had anything to do with my cabin #, because they sat most of our group in that same section, and our cabins were not all located in the same area. We took a bus with our little group. they droped us off right at the terminal, the nice lady from Carnival came on and told us what to do inside, they even unloaded the bus for us no bags to handle. we got there about 1230 was on the ship by 1:30 i guess and our bags were at our doors already. Getting off was a little slow but was easy to get your bags and and go through customs.
