You probably could exchange at the passenger service desk at a poor rate.
Cuedon Posted May 1, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 1, 2022 This is adjacent to something I was wondering about too; as far as I could find, with the exception of a few Australian routes, all Princess ships are based on USD. By extension, I'd say 'No, GBP/EUR will not be usable in the casino.' I don't remember what line it was, but I was on one that would give you a receipt with the rate of exchange for the casino, that you could change back into your original currency at the same rate within 24 hours. If you lost your receipt, then you were stuck with USD, or if you were past the time limit, you could change back at the lower of current rate or receipt rate. TiggerTony2 Posted May 1, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 1, 2022 Definitely USD only. Bring with you to avoid poor exchange rates!

Left over cash in your shipboard account is leftover obc, regardless of the currency. If I put cash down on my acct, whether it be USD, CAD, AD, GBP or Euros, it becomes on board credit. So if I deposit it in my onboard account PCL will convert it to OBC which can be used to casino table play?

You can bill to the room, which you can pay down at the desk, assuming they take non-USD. Same end result, but different order? I'm not sure if you can put cash on the room anymore-- on my most recent voyage, I overheard an argument at the counter where passengers wanted to put cash on the account and the purser said they weren't allowed to do that.
