woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2022 We are currently on the Summit in room 6125. While beautiful, there were surprises. Bed faces the door, but is off set so no view. No usb plugs in lamps. Space to use a regular plug on bathroom wall by floor where lamp is plugged in. An issue is, no night light in bathroom, so if you leave the bathroom light on, it shines through the plexiglass window in the bathtub area which does not work for sleeping. Last pictures demonstrate this with blackout curtains closed and all lights off except bathroom.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Speaking of the bathroom, there are only 3 cam lights: 2 over the sink and one behind the door. There is no lighting in the shower/tub area. There is no storage by the sink or under the sink. Only storage is on opposite wall behind the sink. Long arms are helpful as the toilet paper is across from the toilet, under the sink.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Moving on, all walls except ceiling are no longer magnetic so leave those magnets at home. The entry area to the room has 5 knobs for hanging things, but no other hanging hooks in room. Closets are good size with hanging area on one side and a shelf’s (with small safe) and 2 deep drawers on the other side. Of note, there is no full length mirror nor any make up mirror in the room.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #4 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Next to the closet is a low cabinet with two drawers. On arrival it held two beach towels. We now have 6 towels and we are no where near a beach! Forgot to mention two grey robes and 2 pair of slippers in closet.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Desk area is next. Area has a large lighted mirror, but I am 5’ 10” and my face is maybe 6” from the bottom of the mirror when sitting in the chair. The chair does not fit under the desk. There are two very shallow drawers. The hairdryer is in the low cabinet beside the desk as it, along with hairbrushes, hairspray, etc. will not fit in these drawers. Desk has 2 usb hubs and a European port on one side and on the other side a a weird plug for those plugs that click into a wired phone or modem. You have to lift a tab to use it. Also on this side is one US plug area. The only other plugs not mentioned are a 230v and 115v in bathroom.

woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #7 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Finishing on the left side of the room is a seating area, a reading light (aka hat holder) and small table. The table will be used outside your room if you are quarantined in your room with Covid. Speaking of Covid, no announcements of cases on board that I have heard, but the last picture is about 6 doors down, and yes, someone inside has Covid ( confirmed). Personally, I am all for staying in your room for the quarantine, but clearly what is in this picture is an issue. It stayed this way for several hours. We showed this picture to the Retreat hostess and she got on it immediately. Have not seen a problem since.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Last of room is wall opposite the bed which has a 2 drawer cabinet, one side with a cooler/refrigerator. Above this is a wall mounted flat screen tv. There are two stools at the end of the bed.
woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #9 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Best for last. The balcony is larger than normal with 2 chairs ( no footstools) and a type of double-seated couch. There is not a clear view to the waterline, but no obstruction looking out.

woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #11 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Anything else you want to see in the room, just ask and I will try to accommodate. There are definite differences on a cruise with 360 people vs. being fuller. Not all so great, but what the heck. It is a beautiful day for sailing! Add nothing to the room. Below is what I see when sitting outside. This plant is crazy heavy to move.
kathynorth Posted May 2, 2022 #13 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Seems like there are glitchy items with the refurb. We were in SS-8125 on a past cruise and I think the furniture placement in your cabin is nicer than the way our cabin was arranged.
Rick-n-MeMe Posted May 2, 2022 #14 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Thank you for the information and all the pictures. They are so helpful! Did your “retreat host” provide you with the Maker’s Mark? I think we don’t ask for enough when in a suite on Celebrity!
jelayne Posted May 2, 2022 #15 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Thanks for all the pictures . We have stayed in 6125 on the Infinity & Connie, neither revolutionized. The layout of the Sky suites are the same pre and post revolution. The lack of a full length mirror is a real miss. There used to be a full length mirror on the inside of a closet door. That chair not fitting under the vanity is a issue on the E class and all revolutionized ships to my knowledge. Hope you have a great cruise. We almost booked this cruise at the last minute but instead booked the Summit repo for next April!

How about a shower line? They took all of that out after they "revolutionized" the ship. I was hoping they put them back in all the suite cabins. woldridge Posted May 2, 2022 Author #19 Share Posted May 2, 2022 I meant to mention not one grab bar in the bathroom/tub. Also no clothesline. Thanks for asking.

We actually liked the old layout much better. The sky suites had a large closet (almost double what they have now). The bathrooms had 3 shelves behind the door and now there is one. Not sure why they would take them out. That's where the towels used to be. Oh well. At least we can cruise!

Beachlover1989 Posted May 2, 2022 #22 Share Posted May 2, 2022 I am at a complete loss at the changes they made upon revolutionizing the sky suites. Reduce storage, remove night lights, remove mirrors, add mirrors that are too high, and chairs that don't fit.
LucyTX Posted May 2, 2022 #23 Share Posted May 2, 2022 I see a clock beside the bed, was that in the room? Outside chairs don't look comfortable at all. I love sitting out and reading...I'm so disappointed. We're sailing in sky suite on Summit soon.
AF-1 Posted May 2, 2022 #24 Share Posted May 2, 2022 So is this suite pretty much that same on all class ships or just the ships which are in same class your the one your sailing? Thank you for your feedback. I have a sky suite booked next year and it will be my first time sailing Celebrity
Redtravel Posted May 2, 2022 #25 Share Posted May 2, 2022 Looks like they missed on the renovations. Aside from the larger space, there isn’t much to it. Those chairs on the veranda look uncomfortable. The bathroom looks like a disaster waiting to happen. No light or grab bars for the shower ? What were they thinking?
