CleverUserNameHere Posted May 26, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Good morning all, We will be leaving on Sunday May 29th with the Joy to Bermuda. We are checking in with a toddler and I had initially selected the earliest check in time (9:30-10) since he needs a test at the terminal, but after I realized that we can't even board the ship until 11-12 I am second guessing that decision. Do you think it would be better/less crowded to check in later and then be able to walk onto the ship? Thanks in advance!
Homosassa Posted May 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Only you know your child's needs and his schedule. Do what you think is best to avoid a crying overtire toddler.
Love2cruise77 Posted May 26, 2022 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2022 We were on the 5/15 sailing. The check in was crazy. Lines everywhere. There's a line to check your passport, then there's a line to check your vaccination/Bermuda Travel Authorization, then there the last line to get your cruise card. We arrived the terminal at 11:25 and we didn't get onboard until 1:28.
Rare cruiseny4life Posted May 26, 2022 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Just go at the time yous elected. It takes time to get through security, document check. You'll probably have some time to just sit and chill with your kid...bring along whatever toys you have for him/her. Don't make this a stressful part of your cruise - you'll be one of the first in line to get on board. Good luck.
vacation44 Posted May 26, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2022 And make sure you ask about the priority boarding which you are entitled to as staying in one of the non-Haven suites. NCL has been saying they are "aware" of the issue and are taking steps to fix it. Hopefully, this will be the first week it is "fixed".
Rare JGmf Posted May 26, 2022 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Having experienced the terminal in April, your choices are: (A) Early 9:30-ish arrival and navigate through multiple lines and then experience a longer wait until ship boarding (with nothing to do except maybe look out the window at the Intrepid), versus (B) Noon-ish arrival with longer lines, but shorter/no sit-down waiting to board the ship as boarding already started. Whichever is best for your family should be the option you choose. Have a great cruise!
cmecruise1962 Posted May 29, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2022 I would go later to hopefully avoid the long waits and lines.

The OP has already left on their cruise. If you go later, the lines will be longer.
