I have never seen ones that don’t. Your cabin steward can do that for you. These are opened when they are cleaning all the decks and painting, etc for the crew to use. Have fun! No balcony "doors" wherever there's a fire door. You can tell by the change in the #s. As above, 400 series to 500 series.

nini Posted June 2, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Even if the "doors" can be opened, it is just a small door that you can pass through. It does not create a large balcony.

sandyoftheseas Posted June 2, 2022 #12 Share Posted June 2, 2022 We were on the Discovery Princess in April in cabin E109 (all the way forward) Yes the balcony doors open.
MommyOTwins Posted June 2, 2022 #13 Share Posted June 2, 2022 OP’s question has been specifically answered, but just to provide more info for others reading this, if anyone has the two angled balconies (midship, the “pointy” bits sticking out from the side of the ship) the barrier between the balconies does not connect, even if they are connecting rooms on the inside. We initially booked those rooms and there was a notice from from Princess that the balconies do not connect so we switched to a mid-forward pair of rooms that connect inside and on the balcony. Just ask your cabin steward and they will unlock it for you .
wcflats Posted June 2, 2022 #15 Share Posted June 2, 2022 Just off discovery on May 29…Had C 727 with family in C 721. Opened balcony door..the door from their cabin partially blocked the view out from our cabin. The balconies are so small that it’s not worth it to do that as you really can’t get together like you can on other caribe deck balconies.

Was this on The Princess Discovery that you couldn’t open up balcony dividers ?

BUT--the divider covered HALF of our DOORWAY--YES, the side where the door OPENS! So if it was open, we could barely get thru the opening! Design was poor--should have been arranged so divider always opened over the window portion of the balcony not the door. Still had a WONDERFUL time & we did enjoy that it opened, if in a bizarre way. Experienced the same thing! But the balcony divider on the other side of us (we were in three side by side cabins) covered our window (not door). REALLY bad design. So I am not 100% sure which way the balcony divide "swings". You might not get an answer before you sail and will have to live with it.
