PC Skier Posted July 2, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2022 The covid tests for 4 people is going to cost us as much as taking a 5th person on our cruise. You can get on a plane, train, bus and probably a spaceship without taking a covid test. 8

Rare 1025cruise Posted July 2, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2022 Until the islands stop requiring it, the cruise lines won't stop requiring it. It's not just the CDC.

Results within 15 seconds of showing the proctor the negative results. And, when I submit my receipt to my medical insurance company, they reimburse me 100% of the cost. So my pre-cruise testing is free to me. We hope that the cruise line continues pre-cruise testing for a while. It is keeping active covid cases off the ships, which is a good thing.

Not when you're testing two or three days prior, it's not. 3 3

Enjoy your weekend!

Walgreens always charged. They were getting reimbursed by either private insurance or the government. The government support is potentially going away, Walgreens didn't do it "for free".

PC Skier Posted July 3, 2022 Author #20 Share Posted July 3, 2022 We have cruised 6 weeks this spring. No b2b passengers tested positive. Those of you who are worried about getting covid must not fly to the cruise or leave your house for groceries. 2

They might be free for some people (the site is somewhat vague) but the Walgreens site now says that they will charge if your insurance doesn't pay. And mine won't. I already checked. joelheather Posted July 3, 2022 #23 Share Posted July 3, 2022 I am amazed you guys are testing for free. we have CINGA they will only pay for test if prescribed by a physician. So we buy the emed tests. what insurance covers your testing without a dr.s script?
Old Fart Cruisers Posted July 3, 2022 #24 Share Posted July 3, 2022 My insurance paid $72.00 ($12.00×6) towards my Emed tests. Tests cost$185.56 ($150.00 plus $22.06 shipping & $13.50 tax), so my cost for 6 tests was $113.56 ($18.93 per test)
